So, I love the ending despite now thinking some of it was kinda pointless. But if anyone can convince me of something that I'm missing, be my guest.

So, why does Batman have to go fight Ras? Wouldn't it be faster to say, go ahead and shoot down the train tracks yourself? Does there need to be a distraction? The train is going in only one direction anyway. It just seemed like an excuse to somehow get Gordon involved in the whole thing.

Cause it´s a movie and you need action sequences to entertain the audience and cause it was cool seeing mentor against student

I believe Bruce wanted to stop the train normally and defeat Ra's, blowing it up was a contingency plan

People don´t tend to realize how smart Bruce is in "Begins", he outsmarted Ras, if he wouldn´t have showed up at the train and just blow the train tracks up, Ras would´ve seen it and stop the train and scaped with the microwave emitter, so a distraction was needed, Bats showing up at the train and attacking Ras gives the idea of him wanting to stop the train, Ras believes that and that´s why he doesn´t notice the tracks being blown away; remember when in the middle of the fight Bats head toward the train control panel ? He was there for like 2 seconds, but it was enough time for trying to shut the train down if he really wanted it, then Ras comes and shoves his sword on the panel, thus making it unable to stop, that´s what Bats wanted the whole time, so he just tricked Ras, like he says after that "Who said I wanted to stop the train ?" or something like that.

And about the fight....well, he might just have wanted to kicks Ras a$$, after all, he seemed pretty pissed off.

Poblem near end? I thought it was good to see Batman vs Ra's Al Ghul.

Yep! :woot:

Agreed. It was all a clever ploy on Bruce's part.

Although one could make the case that all Bruce had to do was drive th tumbler down to Wayne Tower and wait for the right moment and near the moment of passing just blown the track right up. But that certainly wouldn't have made for nearly as dramatic a finale.

Exactly ... That's why he says to Gordon: "I MAY need your help ... drive stick?"

Some people just don't listen and/or understand. And yet people get mad that they repeated 1,000,000 times that the central hub is beneath Wayne Tower. If they didn't say it that everyone would be mad as hell about not understanding why the whole water system blew.

cutting power to the tracks would have ended the movie real quick. That exposition guy saying 'it's gonna blow! whoa!" should have thought of that...

oh well, turn off your brain and enjoy the fireworks i guess.

Why would those guys be able to shut down the train, let alone have time to do it? As for someone else cutting the power, I'll go with the "we have infiltrated every level of its infrastructure" explanation.

If I was able to follow what the hell was going on in that "fight" I wouldn't have a problem with the scene.

That's the explanation I used. He did want to stop the train, just realized there was a strong possibility he wouldn't be able to.

Although, if he did stop it, that's alot of unneccessary damage by Gordon.

Bats is pretty smart.....and aparently(sp?)....so am I :woot: .

I just think he wanted to at the very least make an attempt to capture Ra's, he only let him die when it got to the point that he had no choice but to escape to save his own life.

Maybe in all the excitement, old Bats couldn't be so logical. Got caught up in the moment.

It makes sense that he'd have a com-link with the Tumbler, so that he could call it off.

ditto.

Batman didn't want to kill Ra's. Porbably didn't want to destroy the train his father had created either, or cause destruction to Gotham if he could avoid it.

A PLAN 1 and a PLAN B. Bats does that alot anyways, just to play it safe.

I suppose two plans is a good way to put it. Thanks guys :)

he jammed the controls with the sword so that Ra's couldn't just use different tracks to get in the tower.

then there is also the idea that he wanted to save his former mentor, regardless of their falling out.

EDIT: oops its been answered sorry

Batman didn't jam the controls. Ra's did, sealing the fate of that train.

The bigger question: How are the board members having a peaceful meeting in WE the next morning after a train has crashed into the basement only hours before? lol

It was a very important meeting.

And, did it crash in the basement? I thought it crashed into some car garage somewhere around the building.

I assume they're government employees who have access to that stuff. Pick up the phone, do somethnig, anything. They didn't. it was odd.

Well the whole idea of forcing the train to make it to the station really doesn't go well with the plan a and plan b scenario since if gordon failed, batman's plan to force the train to get to its destination would have caused the main to blow sky high.

I maintain that tossing a bat grenade at the microwave thing would have been the best plan
