Love, Victor - Love, Simon Spin-Off at Hulu

I wonder if Katherine Langford would come back for this?

This series sounds like it based on the second book following Leah, Simon's friend. Still. Sounds like an interesting pitch for a series.

So new cast but same universe as the movie. Wonder if members of the faculty in the film will show up.

Or maybe Simon's sister goes to the high school now.

He’s right, you know.

If the film is anything to go by, it’s not like there will be on-screen raw dogging, so this just reeks of Disney being chicken **** about anything more than a throwaway reference to gay being anywhere near their branding.

Does that mean if there is a gay kiss in The Eternals, the film will be on Hulu and not Disney +? Maybe a kiss would be considered a throwaway (I honestly wouldn't know in regards to the issue) to some, but I'm curious to see how your thesis holds up.

My take is twitter is just finding something to get offended by, per usual.

And my take is that that’s a deeply tired ass response to people taking issue with corporations doing the absolute least before patting themselves on the back for their progressiveness.

Disney+ will likely get the Chinese cut, where all the gay content is easily edited out.

Are we making things up to get offended by now? Unless you live in China.

If the simple fact that it doesn't say Disney is what people are going to get worked up about then all the power to you.

But I really am interested to see what they do with Eternals now. Hulu or Disney +? My money is on Disney + fully intact.

I mean, they cut out the one gay kiss in Rise of Skywalker in the China release. So, you will pardon me if I am bit sceptical about Disney.

Now, this could be because the show is shaping up to be something more that you can find on Freeform than Disney Channel. But, it is a reasonable question to have, given some of the content already on Disney+.

Point blank, they only want PG-13 stuff on Disney+, which basically is profanity and violence PG-13, not romcom PG-13.

If we are making the point that it's hypocritical how studios, and by proxy a large segment of America, view violence through a distorted prism when compared to other serious topics or issues then we're in agreement. It's been that way for years, so nothing should be surprising when it comes to those standards. My point is, the show will likely be better off on Hulu (thus the decision) and won't be constricted by what a large number of people view as being part of the Disney 'brand' This is the reason they bought Fox and Hulu. Even if the show ends up being something that could have been on +, this just makes everything cleaner from a corporate/brand perspective. That may not be a politically acceptable reason for some, but from a business standpoint it's an advantage they would be foolish not to take advantage of.

Disney is probably fine with the gays as long as they are sexless paragons of normalcy (which is what I'm expecting from Eternals).

I couldn’t find a thread for Love, Victor but just finished season 2 and it was surprisingly strong. Anyone else watching this series?
