Machete Kills Again... In Space! (2013)

I saw it last night, and enjoyed it because I knew what I was getting a la the first one and Planet Terror. If someone says it was a horrible film, it's honestly because they're just not in on the gag. The movie is basically one big in-joke.

I thought Machete Kills was just okay. It wasn't as funny as the first one. And Trejo didn't seem to own the sequel like he did the original. It felt like he was going through the motions a bit, running here, lunging there. Perhaps it was the script. While it was over the top, it didn't feel over the top enough.

I also wish Charlie Sheen had also been more in the action. He is the best fictional president ever though.

If there is a third one, I would go see it, but my expectations would drop quite a bit.

Dont tell me if I'm in on a gag or not. I know what this suppose to be and I thought it was awful. Because its a crapfest of movie

Seriously?

I have no idea how this film could be more over the top. The first film is extremely tame compared. I'd actually say this film is too over the top at times. They literally threw everything they could at you and were extremely relentless about it.

Also, President David Palmer from "24". I tried to find a good video of him but the only one I came across was some sappy tribute. :woot:

So when does Machete Kills Again....In Space come out?..........LOL

I knew what i was getting and was in on the joke and it still was lame. In fact the trailer for machete kills in space was more entertaining than tbis entire movie. Charlie sheen and the appearance of mel gibson were the only things that remotely saved it, because the rest was pretty boring and underwhelming, even for a gag film. ESPECIALLY for a gag film.

Well, that was my thought on the whole thing, and I stand by it.

I have to disagree with your whole argument Terry. You are basically saying that there is no way that this film can be bad, every movie can be bad to someone no matter what it is heading for. You cannot take that judgement away from people. You can disagree completely but that's it, unfortunately you can't make people like something that they do not like.

Now I can't speak for the sequel because I haven't watched it but I thought that the first movie was pretty bad. I got the joke but the joke wasn't funny and the movie was boring as all get out to me. Yes I can indeed judge these films as bad, there is a right way and a wrong way to make any film, even a parody film. Of course that is just my opinion, we all are entitled to our own opinions.

Considering the sequel opened with 67% less than the first film I'd say that a lot of people were unimpressed by the first film in theaters and on DVD, Blu Ray and VOD. Those people's opinions as well as the people who liked the film matter.

As long as it's judged on what it is trying to accomplish sure. These films do have a very specific audience though. If an audience member didn't like the style/gag of the first or Planet Terror this is obviously not their film. Not saying this is the case with members on here but I don't know why one would pay for a ticket if they already knew they didn't like what they are getting into. It's more of the same only multiplied. I think the main reason critics bashed this one is cause it's getting overplayed. It's not as fresh as it was with Grindhouse. Most the geek sites and genre heads seem to dig it alot. Personally I thought the first Machete was kinda boring besides a solid intro and climax. Still fun, but it didn't take advantage of the premise. Machete Kills is much more relentless and squeezes every last drop out of the genre which made it all the more hilarious and fun imo.

Not surprised to see this flop big time this weekend. I saw the first movie in theaters and wasn't a fan of it, so I really had no intentions of seeing the sequel. The first one was already on the edge of being to ridiculous for its own good and this sequel seems to be way beyond ridiculousness. I mean the trailers told you this movie was gonna be crap especially with Sofia's character shouting MACHETE!! And really I will lose some respect for Robert if he makes the even more ridiculous Machete kills in space which is cringe worthy just by typing the title.

For those who have seen it: How is Gaga in it?

I'm a big fan of her; very curious about her big screen acting debut.

Doesn't have much to do but she's funny.

Wow, this flopped big time, havent seen it yet but even though its low budget I doubt we will be getting a 3rd movie now.

I canceled my ticket after all the bad reviews. Waiting for the blu-ray.

I am still going to see it at the cinema, just for the hot girls on the big screen, but my expectations will be lowered a lot.

I really had my doubts about this but I loved it. Every character was fantastic, especially Mendez and La Camaleón.

HUGE improvement on the first movie and the short trailer for 'Machete Kills Again... In Space' was fantastic. I kinda wish that it would happen, but looks like due to the poor reception, it never will.

I actually love over the top stuff generally, Shoot 'Em Up is one of my favorite action movies.

I wasn't much of a fan of either one of these though.

I found most of the material just silly, not funny (I don't have a problem with the first, but I do when the second is absent).

At some point I may see this space one if it happens, but I'm not the least bit anxious about it though.

Finally I saw the film. Better than the first.

By my God, Alex Vega wearing a thong in assless chaps..lord have mercy. I'm kinda shocked she wore it. I thought RR was gonna cut away but he didn't!
