I'm on the fence. It looks interesting and I'll see it. But, as an 'Escape from NY' fan it just rubbed me the wrong way. It seemed like a remake in space. When the words first came up and said 'ESCAPE' I filled in 'FROM OUTER SPACE' lol. It just seems remarkably similar.

Looking forward to this flick. Was thinking during the clip that Pearce could play a decent Solid Snake in a Metal Gear movie.

I guess I can see where you're coming from there, but I didn't really get that vibe from him exactly. Maybe more Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Willis wasn't as cocky as usual in The Fifth Element.

Guy Pearce comes off as such a badass in this movie. i'm actually looking forward to seeing it. looks like it will be a great sci-fi/action flick. kinda bummed that it ended up being rated PG-13 though, when it seemed like it was going to be rated R
