I saw the first one long after everyone hyped it up, so I thought it was okay. I wasn't CRAZY about it but it was a good action flick. This one, however, was just stupid. Hollywood, please don't let Megaton direct anymore movies....evar...

I'm convinced this movie was made to appeal to those with ADD.

Editing was so damn terrible. Even with the action scenes, with the exception of that nonsensically built up final fight with the random dude, were too difficult to even watch.

This movie was alright but not as good as the first movie. I would give it a 6 or maybe a 7 out of 10 at the most. Its pretty obvious that Liam did this for the paycheck lol. But at least is not a beat for beat rehash of the first movie like the Hangover part 2 for example . They at least switched some things up but its still very similar to the first movie but with a weaker plot, action scenes and acting. It's worth seeing at a matinee or a redbox rental or something though.

Wow, this is exactly what I was going to type. The movie was okay. As I have said earlier I only went to seen Taken 2 to see a crap load of fighting and shooting and in the end, I wasn't very satisfied with it. It just wasn't as entertaining as the first movie and the shakey camera grates

Luc Besson seems to always switch up directors for sequels to movies he produces. Yuen wasn't on Transporter 2 (Not sure how Transporter 1 worked with Yuen/Leterrier). Transporter 3 was Megaton.

It's weird how Morel was sort of like the new hot director in town after Taken. Then it's like nothing. I think he was attached to the Dune remake at one point but that didn't get off the ground either.

Also the movie is enjoyable but it's still stupid as hell. Maggie Grace is like freaking 30 now, how is she still playing a teenager?

Just got back from seeing this and I don't see what the fuss is about. It's a good film if you liked the first film I don't understand why you wouldn't like this one it's just more of the same and that isn't a bad thing.

I went in expecting bad shaky cam, editing and not being able to see the action due to that however I followed the action just fine, the shaky cam during the fights was only on close ups of the action before it cut straight to a wide shot where we got to see the whole thing with no shaky, it was also cut in a good way where you were able to feel the fight but also view it.

Yes the formula was the same but it worked just as well as the first and the plot made sense. I'd hope for a 3rd one just because I really like Liam Neeson as Brian and I also enjoy seeing Famke Janssen as Lenor, I think they have some good chemistry. The only trouble is I'm unsure where they would take the story, if they chose to have Brian being brought into help out someone who's family had been taken I don't think the film would be any good because it wouldn't make sense for the character. It's the fact that it's his loved ones that causes him to have that drive and to kick ass, an outsider wouldn't generate as much passion.

Although the just-released Taken 2 wasn't a huge hit with credits, its box office performance is another story. The Liam Neeson action sequel pulled in nearly $50 million in its opening weekend, doubling the original film's first weekend receipts.

In a new interview with Hollywood.com, screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen says that talks have already begun for a third Taken.

"We didn't start talking about [it] until we saw the numbers," he told the outlet. "But then we said, 'Oh, okay. I think we should do a third one.' And Fox wants us to do a third one."

Finding a way to continue the story is the first obstacle, but Kamen hints that he's already got some details worked out.

"We've taken everyone we can take," he says. "It's going to go in another direction."

In theaters now, Taken 2 also stars Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Rade Sherbedgia and Luke Grimes.

At this stage I'd watch it if Liam Neeson returns and Olivier Megaton doesn't. Get someone who can shoot fights next time. The whole point of seeing this thing is seeing Liam neeson rock people. Not to half see Liam Neeson rock people.
