The entire fourth season of Arrow was to be about Magic. So far the only magic we have seen on the show is of the Lazarus Pit, Vixen (?) and Damien Darhk. Baron Reiter on the other hand is searching for a mystical artifact. What if the artifact he is looking for is the source of Damien Darhk's powers? Since Oliver has seen magic before, it has to be from the island but Reiter doesnt have any mystical abilities so maybe the artifact he is looking for on the island is the statue Darhk keeps in his closet. That's my theory of the magic of Arrow. What are yours?

Damien Darhk is hella old. I'm pretty sure that whatever magic he learned over the centuries wasn't from a magic rock Oliver found on Lian Yiu

I hope that Constantine makes an appearance again.

TBH I know Arrow had to evolve because of The Flash coming about, but part of me misses the day when this show was more like a cop show but with vigilantes. It used to be grounded and realistic, but now anything goes. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's a bit jarring going from S1's tone to S4's tone. Don't get me wrong, I love S4 and S3 was not all bad, but S1 (and even S2, which was only unrealistic due to the mirakuru thing) has yet to be beaten.

Agreed.

Only because it is being written poorly.

There barely magic shown beside darhk so the realistic element still there

I much prefer the show having proper superhero elements like magic and superpowers

It's a superhero show and I think it's better to embrace that than do the Christopher Nolan thing

In theory I don't mind magic at all.

But I think the idea that Oliver's first five years has him run into ARGUS and now magic is too far-fetched to keep a coherent story. I mean he should have walked all over Merlyn the way things are going in the flashbacks.
