Sequels Magneto Villian Thread

It's probably just going to be the Nazis. I doubt we'd see him go against actual superhumans until the possible sequel. :o

Yeah, I think the Nazis would work best. I mean who else would he get his revenge on? And if he was up against superhumans, who else would he fight other than the X-Men? And all the films so far have basically been about him versus the X-Men. I want to see something different this time, like an enemy that isn't so obvious eg. Nazis and their sinister plans.

i still think shadow king makes for the best villain... plus they both fought him when they were younger as well... so he fits

i dont think a Magneto movie should have a supervillain. maybe how he as a villain, although he doesnt think he is one. (Do you remember Elektra? No, not like it, but what like it was supposed to be, the life of a villain, but not the life of an assassin who cares about little girls and have lessons from pai Mei)

it should be about him being a good guy and then transforming into the bad guy thru the movie but with him having flash backs as he tries to regain his powers and control them once more.

Nazis the bad guy in the movie from the start. Then him meets Xavier and forming a friendship, then crapping on that friendship cause he thinks mutants are the future and all man kind should bow down to them, and him having a fight with the X-men, and then crippling his friend and meeting up with a young mystique in germany who is pregnant with nightcrawler.

Probably strucker so they can have the fenris twins later. So post second world war nazis on a small scale I expect. Shadow king should be saved for an x-men film.

Nazis on a big scale post world war 2 wouldn`t be believable because that would be messing with historical events a bit too much. The audience would have trouble in beleiving there was a ginat nazi army sitting around that wasn`t wiped out after the war.

Nazis on a big scale during the war wouldn`t work either because then that means magneto would have his powers at full during the war which would entail him trying to liberate his people. Magneto freeing all the holocaust victims would be hard to swallow and sort of outrageously insulting to the dead.

If it is nazis what super powered nazi villains were there? Someone who magneto could really have a knock down fight with.

Shadow King (if Xavier is present) or Baron Von Strucker are comic based choices.

I want to see him own tons of Nazis and maybe even freak Hitler out and make him want to **** his pants seeing as there is a person who is more powerful than him.

But I also want to see him meet Mystique, falls in love with her, meets Xavier and they become friends, form the Xavier Academy, and then Magneto begins to slowly start distrusting Charles and not sharing his mission for mutant and mankind and the rest is history.

In the end they both battle.

I think he should fight Sinister and Sinister's Super Nazis....
this would also be a good set up for Sinister and Apocalypse in X4

The first bit wouldn`t make sense. If magneto "owned" loads of nazis and scared the **** out of hitler then he most likely would have freed the people in the concentration camps. It would have been his first priority, not scaring hitler.

The character of magneto is that of a pessimist who is fighting against the fact that he could not save his loved ones from past atrocities and thereby in his own way he is trying to stop his new people (mutants) from being led into concentration camps.

So the two bits just don`t gel. If he had had his powers during world war two then he WOULD have freed everyone from the concentration camps. And thereby he would no longer have the motivation to become the magneto as he would have succeeded in saving his loved ones.

For magneto to be THE magneto we know he has to gain his powers after hitler and main bulk of the nazi movement had died out so that there is the angst and personal loss to drive him.

Y'know, Wouldn't it be odd if they decided to have Xorn in this film? Maybe not as the major villian but just somewhere there

I would love to see Magneto's first encounter with Mystique.

Don't we all?
Mystique was the coolest character in the movies. Period. (Although Jason Stryker is also cool. Why doesn't anyone ever remember him? But anyway . . . )
"People like you are the reason I was afraid to go to school as a child" is one of the best quotes ever.

No He isn't

I know his origin thank you...but Apocolypse made him a mutant/inhuman. So, he is now a mutant with powers. For the sake of the movieverse...ie Juggernaut...they will make Sinister a mutant. However, It was recently revealed that this ability was derived from the cells of the mutant Courier in the late 19th Century, and not from any of Apocalypse's manipulations. Sinister may also have some telepathic abilities, like making people pass out. He also has energy blasting abilities, but how he procured them is uncertain. In other words, Sinister may have already been a mutant
This fact has already been argued. How do you think he has survived for so long? His tests and the aide of Apocolypse has given him mutant abilities. But I do think Sinister would be a great villian and having him work along the Nazi's to conflict with Magneto's history with them would be great and there is already a storyline set out in the comics for them.

The Shadow King isn't really a villian that magneto can fight due to his nature. He's suited for Prof X. Unless he is taking over some superpowered people, I don't see him being a good villian in a Magneto film.

I still say Sinister and the Nazis. And the ending for this movie should be without question, Magneto meeting Mystique for the first time and ending. If it is set to far back into the past...ie WW2, then we probably won't see Mystique since she would be too young or not even born yet.

i dunno.. i know hes more of an Xavier villain but we already know this movie is going to focus on the both of them... and if im not mistaken, they bost have fought him before

Their's been so many Xmen stories. I know Prof X has delt with him often and Jean, Storm, Rogue and Psylocke has bumped heads with him but I don't recall magneto taking him on. How did Mags even fight him???

My guess is that Fox will try to make this a trilogy. I think the first film will be his younger years, the second will be his middle years, and the final will probably be after they meet Jean (my guesses anyway). It could all be about the gathering of mutants and teaching each mutant their own values towards coexistence.

I love the idea of Sinister but it could get complicated. Xavier and Eric should fight side by side whoever it should be. I just don't like the idea of them fighting so soon in their history. In X3, the film universe, they appear to be friends durring their late 30's to early 40's and it would be wierd for them to have their falling out before this.

Magneto can still be the villain, like Hannibal was to his movies. I don't think this is a wise idea but it can still happen. I just hope they don't try to rush his entire history in one 95 minute Fox made film.

^I'm glad you pointed out the X3 orgin scene of Magneto and Xavier. I hope they remember at what age the two were still friends, and don't make the two characters enemies prematurely, in the spin-off.

My prayers are with Turner and now Goyer, who's working on this script, lol. Writing a movie on a villain seems very difficult. You have to get the audience to connect with the character (which in Magneto's case won't be incredibly difficult), but you also have to show the evolution of this character, and still find a way to get the audience to 'cheer' him on.

I liked ImOverIt's idea about developing the story over two or three films. It would be a better way to show Magneto starting out good, but becoming more radical and vengeful with his beliefs. IDK how they're looking at this, but it seems it would be difficult to cover all that in one film.

I think they should have Exodus as the villain, Hes never really been in the X-Men much, and he has connections with Magneto and Sinister possibly cos of the Acolytes, and being really old.
