Who? And have to be a GOOD reason why he is helping them.

Peyton you know what would be awesome if Red Skull and Dr.Doom worked together! I don't think that has ever happened in the comics, of course one or both will double-cross the other at the proper time but, that would kick ass!

I'll give you a list of possible moles.

*Sandman(Former Avenger.)
*Paladin(He'll do anything for the right price)
*Blackwidow(pretending to turn bad,she did start out a villain.)
*Baron Zemo(Notoriously jealous personality.)
*Wizard(Is weak willed and probaly would be looked down upon by Dr.Doom and not seen as a intellectual equal.)

Guys not to burst your bubble but its been done time and again

Ever heard of Emperor DOOM?

The Age of Apocolypse?

Fred Hembeck Destroys the Marvel Universe?

My point is do something original.

Maybe have Peter stop being spidey for one year and show how that reverberates throughout the MU.

If it must be Doom write a yearlong arc that crosses all titles based on Doom trying to free his mothers soul from Mephisto.

He might need certain objects/ people to complete his objective and this could bring him into conflict with every hero in the MU.

Not to mention it would be a build up to one of the wildest villain vs villain fights in the history of the MU, Doom vs Mephisto.

Doom and the Red Skull have teamed up often.

There is a series called Supervillain Team Up in which Doom and the Skull appeared regularly.

I'll look into each of those to see which would be best. A little reading on each to see which is most apt to turn.

Well, Doom has tried & will try for years to come, its in his makeup......possibly ending his reign by taking on Mephisto is an idea

What has been done?

I am still working on this, and was wondering if anyone would like to be a co-writer , or be there for their knowledge of the MArvel Universe & possibly someone to be an artist down the road when there is enough material.

Was hoping those who didn't read this 1st time, can tell me what they think now.

The virus idea is a natural one since he once used a similar idea with some success. The drawbacks to it are that there are among the heroes several people potentially capable of diagnosing the virus and coming up with a counter. Collectively they could definitely stop it ...unless they were dealt with discretely before it all started. Many would suspect Doom on general principles and would be certain as soon as Doom came forward to "help". In order for the scenario to work at all someone would have to go to Doom and ask for his help, which he would of course be reluctant to give because he doesn't want to be suspected of anything. :) You would have to find some plausible way to keep Magneto and Apocalypse out of the story because they are both as intelligent as Doom and much more powerful. Both of them would oppose Doom on general principle even if they didn't suspect he was behind the whole thing.

How would Marvels Cosmic heroes fit into the story? The Watcher? Surfer? Guardians/Galaxy?

You brought up some good points i didnt even think of. I'll have to re-tool it now.
Thanx !

I think it's too easy and simplistic. In addition, the concept of "a supervillain concocts a virus for evil purposes to enslave or subdue the world's heroes" is rather cliche. Lots of ideas are cliche, yeah, and a lot depends on how it all comes off, and I don't think your details are poor - but at its base, it's cliche, and not quite in a good way.

Ultimately, the problem comes with where it goes. When the heroes eventually win, however it is, it becomes a simple, "Darn, Dr. Doom tricked us! And he made Wolverine, Captain America, et al. turn on their allies through the use of his evil virus! We must stay ever vigilant so this never happens again!" This is to say, nobody's accountable. The heroes did nothing wrong. Nothing's their fault. It's just Dr. Doom being a prick, pretty much, which, gasp, is not surprising at all.

I would say, something more cerebral is bound to be more successful. Doom doesn't have to rely on a virus to do his dirty work. Doom's a mad genius, is he not? Link him up with some villains across franchises before dealing with heroes, which allows for the heroes to band together. Frame the heroes. Slander. Libel. Accomplish all the little details you had without the use of the virus. It doesn't take a virus to get Wolverine slashing across international borders - set him off, then spin it to make him look horrible. Heck, JJJ's been doing that with Spider-man for how long? Do the same with Iron Man. At this point in Marvel continuity, Cap and Thor would probably sit things out, and possibly Hulk too (I'm behind on Red Hulk reading). But heck, throw Hercules in there. Throw the Young Avengers in there.

It puts everything on its head. And in the end, I think it would come off as more believable because of the manipulation behind it and present in it, rather than "Oh, it's a virus that, uh, made them angry."

It seems lately most have thought this was done before, or not a good enough idea. May be going back to drawing board soon.
