World Make a better Reeve Superman Collection cover

Okay, here is my DVD cover. I had to borrow Mr.J's dvd cover above as I was way too tired to find and make one:

And full cover poster minus credits

And here is the theatrical release poster:

This is the ugliest manips I ever did, but I am tired and there is not alot of action shots from either film out there that I could use. Since it is being released seperately, I think they should have commisioned a painter and let Donner aprove a painted poster as he would have done back in 1979 (and made it a sister poster to STM's), when the thing was originally to have been released, and done this DVD like that, and no photoshop crap. I am starting to get sick of this photoshop crap that Lucas started. The painted posters become collectors items.

"Hey Warner's! These craptastic photoshop stuff you guys did for the SR covers and the Reeve Collection stink! This is this movies first release. Give it it's proper poster!"

I was gonna compliment your work there, until I got to the part where you called everyone's photoshop work 'craptastic'.

No. I was talking about Warner's when I said you guys. So when I said:

"These craptastic photoshop stuff you guys do do not. This is it's first release Warner's. Give it it's poster."

I in now way was reffering to the photoshop covers the posters here made in this thread. I know i worded it wrong and it was misread. When I said that, I was talking directly to Warner's (cause I know they read this board) and their art department who came up with the craptastic dvd covers, specifically the first Superman 2 donner cut cover released. If you missed it, it was terrible. I will redo my post above and rephrase the wording to reflect that I was talking to the WB directly. More along the lines of this, which is what I originally meant to say:

"Hey Warner's! These craptastic photoshop stuff you guys did for the SR covers and the Reeve Collection stink! This is this movies first release. Give it it's proper poster!"

Thanks for pointing that out, and I am sorry if anyone else, especially people who also made their own covers here, took it the wrong way.

I actually quite like the design that they've given to the boxset, but I don't like certain things about it, like the Superman II front cover, why has he got the Superman Returns S on his chest? I'd much prefer it if it looked more like this:

^ Why, why, WHY the f**k didn't Warner Bros do that in the first place?

Nice manip by the way. :O

Ok. This is too BAD ASS FOR WORDS!!! Who ever made this is a ****ing genius! Just take a look at those faded images of Jor-El and General Zod in the background. B-E-A-utiful tough!

PLEASE TELL ME THAT THIS COVER CAN BE DOWNLOADED FOR INSERTING!??? If not, get on it!:) I want that!

^ Sooo, do you know if it can be found as a downloadable version?

Is there a place on the net for good high res stills from the movies? I can't find anything anymore! :(

You should try the link below. It's from Brandon Routh's official website, there's some good ones there...VERY HIGH RESOLUTION! This link takes you right there.

I am not jumping on you, but that would take him to high rez Routh Images. I think he was talking about high resolution images from the Reeve films, especially STM. I could be wrong, but I assumed that since the thread is called "Make a better Reeve Superman Collection cover"

I hope you didn't take it as I was jumping on you or anything. It is just he wasnt looking for Routh or SR pics.

Well, there was a site for some wonderful STM pics but for some reason it's been taken off the net.If I remember rightly, the site was called- www.Superman-the-movie.com, however, it doesn't open anymore and it really had some outstanding pictures. However, if you need some rare, high resolution pictures from S2 and other Reeve movies, you may try- www.Supermanii.com

It's ok, I got it:)

Yeah, from STM is what I'm looking for. Thanks anyway though.

Thanks Gaurav! I'll check them out when I get home.

Once a girl's seen Superman in action, Niagara falls kinda leaves you cold.

I agree, thats the best maniped cover I've ever seen.

^ If that had the original Superman font that would be perfect.

I only did a cover for the first film, otherwise I'd be here all night! I went for a classic arty look. I kept the back cover simple, so that the background image of Chris Reeve would be more appealing. I also made the superman text myself, as I didn't want to use the original. :super:
I really like it, but the black and white background doesn't work, too plain, looks cheap, I'd color it, but the Black and White pic on the back is classy and very nice. Good job over all. Better than what I could do.

Me too, but I still like to see some care taken over the artwork and design of what is an amazing and quite expensive DVD set.

They definitely need to make a downloadable version, I would even pay for something like that.

Too bad it couldn't be like one of those fold out dvd holders. Much like Smallville Season 5. I really liked Lex Luthor standing on top of the building looking out over Metropolis burning.

That would be cool for Superman II: The Donner Cut. They could put both versions in the case too, with all the bonus discs and goodies.

You know what's funny now, both of those actors have played Jor-El, well technically a voice over really.
