The Superman Look: Shaping Superman

I agree but you can tell me that the s-curl as seen above looks natural in any way shape or form. I know people in real life who have a slight s-curl but it's the natural occuring variety. In SR it looked like clark uses a curling iron every time he turns into supes.

yea the way routh's hair was bad. If you have the hair comb like how reeve had it as superman with the right hair style of a person hair the hair more naturally falls into a curl. Like take how tom welling has his hair, or even bomer does in chuck/white collar.

As for the costume, here's a breakdown of what I'd like to see:
Color scheme: The red should be the color of blood, and the blue a cool shade, something like the primary color of the modern Superman blue. As for the yellow, I've got three words: LASER FREAKING LEMON. Not only does it sound cool, It would definitely work.

For a more radical departure from the Donner-verse, I wouldn't mind the Kingdom Come design, but that could piss off a lot of fans.
Undies: Keep 'em. They shouldn't look restrictive, like Routh's did, however.
Belt: A lot of people have questioned why Superman would need this, and I can see their point. At the same thing, it's as iconic an element of the suit as any, and I wouldn't want to see them do away with it any more than I'd like to see the underwear on the outside of the pants gone. Perhaps a simple yellow band across the waste would be a good compromise.
Cape: It should go about halfway down the shin.
Boots: Go real old scool:

I want Clark/Superman's hair to look like it did in Superman: Birthright sideburns and all.

Let me give you a comparison to show how much of a difference the hair makes:

Exhibit A:

Vs Exhibit B (the way it should've been):

Need i say more?

If superman is 6`4 in that pic he weighs closer to 260 than 230 for sure.

IMO Superman should have a lean but muscular build. Here's three artists who I think got Superman's build right.

Curt Swan:

John Byrne:

Gary Frank:

i would be down with that, and those would be more realistic body types an actor could get to. Bearing their height, frame, and body type on putting on muscles.

i hated the fact that Brandon's hair looked so brown in 'Returns' thanks to the lighting. funny enough, his hair is near black in real life.

Read Superman: True Brit...thats what I want him to be like.:awesome:
