This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]518813[/split]
I'm not denying that there's racial issues at play. But making it first in foremost a race issue is a surefire way to keep anything from being done, because there are far too many people still insisting that race isn't a problem and ignoring any issues related to it. I'm not saying that's the "right" view, but that's the only way to hope to change things, you have to be able to appeal to people like that.
Donald Trumps director of African-American outreach has an ominous warning for all who dared to criticize the Republican presidential nominee: Soon, they will have to bow down to the most powerful man in the universe.
In an upcoming Frontline special, Omarosa Manigault told PBS that the roots of Trumps presidential campaign may be traced back to the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, when President Barack Obama cracked a few jokes at the real estate moguls expense. The quips came after Trump falsely accused Obama of lying about his birthplace and citizenship, thus feeding the discredited right-wing birther conspiracy theory.
It just kept going and going and he just kept hammering him, Manigault said. And I thought, Ohhhh, Barack Obama is starting something that I dont know if hell be able to finish.
She said:
Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump. Its everyone whos ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.

Ignoring the nuke thing for a second if the US defaulted on its debt it would very likely cause a global crash that would make the 07-08 banking crisis look like a door ding. The US Dollar is one of the bedrocks of the global economy, if people could no longer trust it...A majority of voters say Donald Trump would allow the U.S. to default on its debt and that he would misuse the power of the presidency to punish his political opponents.
And nearly half of voters 46 percent say Trump would use a nuclear weapon to attack ISIS or another foreign enemy.
Those are the findings of a new poll conducted by SurveyMonkey on behalf of the Lincoln Leadership Initiative, a new group helmed by prominent Republican critics of Trump who are advocating for the GOP to dump the nominee and return to its foundational values.
The poll also found that a majority of voters believe that as president, Trump would create a database to track Muslims and order military strikes against the families of terrorists.
Sixty-five percent said that there would be race riots in major cities during a Trump administration, and 44 percent believe Trump would authorize internment camps for illegal immigrants.
Those views are also held by a significant number of voters who are Trump supporters.
Among those who say they will vote for Trump, 48 percent say hell create a database to track Muslims; 36 percent say there will be race riots; 33 percent say the government would default on its debt; and 32 percent say Trump would punish his political opponents and authorize internment camps for illegal immigrants.
Only 22 percent of Trump supporters believe he will start a nuclear war.
Donald Trump, Future President of the Universe... Wait, what???
The universe...umm slow ya roll, lady. Its a big universe. Dont get carried away. Trump isnt actually a messiah. He's a skidmark on the underpants of america which is one country on a tiny poluted planet on the arm of the milky way.
Somewhere some extra terrestrial child and its parents are probably laughing about the murderous naked apes on the backwater planet that every intelligent galactic civilization ignores. But, sure, a human is totally the most powerful man in the universe.

Something cheery for the weekend.
Poll: Nearly half of voters think Trump will detonate a nuke
Ignoring the nuke thing for a second if the US defaulted on its debt it would very likely cause a global crash that would make the 07-08 banking crisis look like a door ding. The US Dollar is one of the bedrocks of the global economy, if people could no longer trust it...
Of course it would also violate the Constitution which forbids the President from questioning the legitimacy of public debt.
These polls cannot be compared....the poll about the nukes probably has no differentiation between people who actually vote, and people who don't.
Knowing what groups were polled tells you far more than just the percentage. The polls that have Trump further in the lead than others...who did they poll, likely voters, registered voters, more Republicans, more Democrats....people who have NEVER voted?
All of those questions need to be answered before viewing any poll as viable or not.
That was a poll of registered voters. You're right. You can't compare results from different populations. What you can say is that registered voters don't think very highly of him or think he's dangerous. It would be interesting to find out whether or not having someone like him running for president serves as motivation for people to vote (and for whom) or whether it just discourages them more. Results like that make me think that it's very possible that people will be more likely to turnout than otherwise. On the other hand, there are a lot of discouraged, fatalistic people out there.
And another possible impeachmentAs the presidential race continues to heat up, a new legal analysis released today by University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law professor Christopher L. Peterson outlines why there is a legally sufficient case to impeach Republican nominee Donald Trump under the U.S. Constitution on charges related to fraud and racketeering for prior conduct if he is elected in November.
In an analysis titled Trump University and Presidential Impeachment, Peterson explores Trumps actions as the leader of Trump University, a for-profit business founded in 2005 where students spent upwards of $30,000 to learn real estate development skills. Trump University advertised curriculum and instructors chosen by Trump, promising students a high-caliber and selective experience. In fact, according to Peterson, Trump University was an unaccredited and unlicensed series of get-rich-quick seminars provided by traveling salesmen. The school closed in 2010 and lawsuitsincluding one filed by the state of New York alleging Trump tricked students out of $40 millionare ongoing. (Two class action cases in California are also pending). Peterson asserts that Trumps pending consumer protection lawsuits for fraud and racketeering will cast a shadow over his presidency if Trump wins the election and possibly be legally permissible grounds for impeachment should he be elected to the White House.
Peterson explains that under the U.S. Constitution, presidents can be impeached for bribery, treason or other high crimes and misdemeanors. He argues that fraud and racketeeringboth of which are alleged as civil claims against Trump in the pending lawsuitsmay qualify as impeachable high crimes or misdemeanors under the U.S. Constitution.
Donald Trump committed perjury. Or he looked into the faces of the Republican faithful and knowingly lied. There is no third option.
...
There are two recordsone, a previously undisclosed deposition of the Republican nominee testifying under oath, and the second a transcript/video of a Republican presidential debate. In them, Trump tells contradictory versions of the same story with the clashing accounts tailored to provide what he wanted people to believe when he was speaking.
This fib matters far more than whether Trump was honest about why he abandoned his birther movement or the corollary fib that Hillary Clinton started the racist story that President Obama was born in Kenya. In the lie we are examining here, Trump either committed a felony or proved himself willing to deceive his followers whenever it suits him.
...
Assume the story he told at the debate is the lie. Even though Bushs story reinforced what Trump was saying at rallieshe had played the cash for outcomes political game for yearshe could not admit he had tried to do the same in Florida because he could not bring himself to say that he had lost. Instead, he looked America in the eye and lied. And then he felt compelled to stack on another boast: His people are so wonderful that they would have gotten casino gambling in Florida, regardless of Bushs oppositionif Trump had wanted it.
Now consider the other option, that Trump committed perjury in the 2007 testimony. There, he admitted pushing for casino gambling in Florida, but said he would have gotten what he wanted if he hadnt been tricked by Fields. The rationale for the perjurious testimony is simpleTrump wants money from a man who stopped working for him and, once again, the story lets him deny he is anything less than perfect.
No question, these two stories must be investigated if there is ever a President Trump. In their impeachment of President Bill Clinton for lying under oath about an extramarital affair, Republicans established the standard that failing to tell the truth while testifyingeven in the most understandable of circumstancesrises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors. Surely perjury for pecuniary purposes or to inflate ones self-image cannot be ignored.
Trump's biggest campaign money recipient is family acquaintanceDonald Trumps presidential campaign has paid his family'sbusinesses more than $8.2 million, according to a POLITICO analysis of campaign finance filings, which reveals an integrated business and political operation without precedent in national politics. The GOP presidential nominees campaign has paid his various businesses for services including rent for his campaign offices ($1.3 million), food and facilitiesfor events and meetings ($544,000) and payroll for Trump corporate staffers ($333,000) who helped with everything from his traveling security to his wifes convention speech.
...
Among the goods and services that Trump has paid his companies for are $34,500 for lodging and event staging at Trump National Doral golf course, $48,200 for room rental and catering from the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester, N.Y., and $142,000 to Trump Restaurants for rent, utilities, meals and office supplies. It paid more than $1 million to Trump Tower to rent office space for its main campaignheadquarters. Trump Ice, his bottled water company, got $1,300, while his son Eric Trump's Virginia winery was paidalmost $5,000 for catering and event space.
The bulk of the spending, almost $6 million, went to a company called TAG Air for use of Trumps private plane.
The campaign has also paid $432,000 to Mar-a-Lago, Trumps club in Palm Beach, Fla., for lodging, facility rental and catering.
The biggest recipient of Donald Trumps presidential campaign war chest is a little-known San Antonio-based digital marketing company, with no experience in political advertising but plenty in working for Trump and his family on personal web projects.
Trumps presidential campaign spent $11m in August on the services of Giles-Parscale, a web firm that previously worked mostly for local businesses and restaurants and made revenue of just $3.5m for the whole of 2015.
The company, run by Brad Parscale a 40-year-old, 6ft 8in former basketball player from Kansas, is by far the biggest recipient of Donald J Trump for President Inc funds, having collected more than a third of total spending in August according to Federal Election Commission figures released this week. The previous month the firm was paid $8.3m, almost half of the Trump campaigns total monthly spend.
For son Eric Trump, Donald Trump will ultimately win over millennials against Hillary Clinton because like Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, the Republican nominee has been an entrepreneurial guy who became the epitome of the American dream.
Hes gone from nothing into a man whos just Trump said Friday on Fox News Outnumbered, as Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky cut him off: Nothing? He got a million bucks? Come on, Eric
Trump defended his statement, saying his father has built an unbelievable empire and has epitomized what Americas all about: Opportunity and working hard and being able to achieve your dreams and what you want to succeed, right?
Its no different than a Zuckerberg, right? he continued. Who went out with a great idea like a Facebook and developed this idea and built it and grew it and grew it and grew it. That is achieving something, right? And I think its very different than a person who has been a career politician.
And finally some humour.
Eric Trump: My dad appeals to millennials because he's like Mark Zuckerberg
A very fair and accurate portrayal of Cruz's complete political incompetence.John Ziegler

Ted Cruz was with Trump when he could've beaten him & against him when he couldn't. Then he non-endorsed with max damage, & caved for 0 gain
Can we change the title of this thread to "Make Racism/Bigotry Great Again!". That seems to be the more accurate descriptor.
U.S. intelligence officials are seeking to determine whether an American businessman identified by Donald Trump as one of his foreign policy advisers has opened up private communications with senior Russian officials including talks about the possible lifting of economic sanctions if the Republican nominee becomes president, according to multiple sources who have been briefed on the issue.
The activities of Trump adviser Carter Page, who has extensive business interests in Russia, have been discussed with senior members of Congress during recent briefings about suspected efforts by Moscow to influence the presidential election, the sources said. After one of those briefings, Senate minority leader Harry Reid wrote FBI Director James Comey, citing reports of meetings between a Trump adviser (a reference to Page) and high ranking sanctioned individuals in Moscow over the summer as evidence of significant and disturbing ties between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin that needed to be investigated by the bureau.
Some of those briefed were taken aback when they learned about Pages contacts in Moscow, viewing them as a possible back channel to the Russians that could undercut U.S. foreign policy, said a congressional source familiar with the briefings but who asked for anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject. The source added that U.S. officials in the briefings indicated that intelligence reports about the advisers talks with senior Russian officials close to President Vladimir Putin were being actively monitored and investigated.
A senior U.S. law enforcement official did not dispute that characterization when asked for comment by Yahoo News. Its on our radar screen, said the official about Pages contacts with Russian officials. Its being looked at.
