Making Costumes?

yeah, keep up good spirits though, man, I just stumbled across one in tennessee when I was visiting my cousin, so you never know when a good thing's gonna fall right into your lap.

but if you've got any neighboring towns or anything near you with goodwills or thriftshops something's bound to turn up.

get someone to measure your head :oldrazz:
i was in between sizes and got the bigger one...fits better!

TBH i think the tights way(like on youtube)_ works way better, its looks great its more practical and its cheap as hell.

ive done the tights way....looks good in great lighting...but no matter how much you try....you can see your face through the mask

What about this as an option?
If the knit hat is doubled folded like most are, you can unstitch the layer underneath at the top seam. That would allow you to fold out the fabric more to cover the entire head. Could be thin enough material to make worth wearing.

I will test this out on a cheapo dollar knit hat here and see what it shapes like and post my findings. Might help someone looking for a nice enough $15 rorschach mask.

Could somebody walk me through the iron on process? I keep screwing it up:waa:

are you ironing on a shirt?
if so...i cut out my rorschach into a head shaped cone...put two tiny holes in the nose area...turn the shirt upside down
http://img16.imageshack.us/my.php?image=upsidezs3.jpg
and place it like that...get a pillow case and put it under the shirt...press down hard and keep moving around the edges and what not...thats how i did it...of course with my mask i had to tie a knot in the back to keep it tight

Why am I hearing no love for a naked Dr. Manhattan?

hey ya guys, how's everybody doing? lol so i'm pretty sure that i'm making a costume for the midnight premiere and going to wait in line as rorschach, it should me great fun. lol thing is, i'm having problems making a mask; i've thought about getting just normal material from a blanket to make the mask and cut some decent eye holes in that, and then draw the ink blot over some white panny hose and through that over the mask. lol you think that would work guys or do you all have any better recommendations? :yay:

DO NOT USE STRETCHABLE IRON ON TRANSFERS FOR SPANDEX MASKS!
I REPEAT! DO NOT USE IT!!!
Mine is not sticking on and theres only a lil black on it...im gonna have to try and marker it on...*gulp*

I finished my friend's Comedian costume a day back. Based it off the comic with a hint of the movie version. Sort of a hybrid I guess. Not bad for under $60. Still gotta add belt and dog tags. Here we are bein' nerds:

He needs a 'stache too.

I have just had one of the best days of my life.
I went along to the World Premiere of Watchmen in Liecester Square London U.K.
I took the costume I thought it would be a good laugh. Might get a few nods from the cast and crew.
Boy was I wrong!

What a nice guy! really. He looked up from signing autographs and this massive grin just breaks out, "Hey bro! there you are!, aww come here bro give me a hug. I know what you been through". And proceeded to give me a big hug. He quickly asked me how I got on with wearing the mask, I said I was about to ask him the same thing.
Also got an "Oh you look awesome there" from Patrick Wilson, and a "This is good" from Zach Snyder.
To top it all off they end up givinging me a ticket to get in!!!
So with 5 mins to spare I have to wip off the mask dash over the barrier and up the Yellow (not red) carpet and into the premiere.
I'm sitting in the cinema seeing the film introduced by Zach Snyder and the cast and I'm thinking "Am I really frikkin' here!"

The film was great! better than what I was expecting.
I'm completely worn out but smiling like a god damned badge!
