Man 1 Shark 0

Well, first of all.....you never want to punch a sharks nose with a "fist"...

Most sharks you are going to see are probably under 6 ft in length, a "fist" would fit nicely into an open mouth. Open palm to the snout would do...

As far as Tiger sharks, they normally come from beneath much like Great Whites, and you'll never know what hit you....:yay:

True, but a good firm hit is enough to drive the smaller ones away, and if I had the ultimate misfortune of running afoul of a tiger shark or great white, I know enough to go for the eyes and gills. Let's hope that I'd be in the state of mind to remember that if it happens, though chances are, I'd be meat anyway, since I can't swim.

Yeah, I wouldn't go out in the middle of the ocean with just floaties on....:cwink:

If all I lose is a hand from a tussle with a tiger shark, I'd be grateful.

If I didn't have any weapons, I guess a punch would be my only defense. If I had a knife or a spear gun though, I'd rather kill the shark just to be safe than lose my hand.

Obviously. The shark knows what it's getting into when it attacks, it knows that there's a chance of failure, and a chance of the prey fighting back and killing it, just as every predator does. You've got to fight back if something wants to eat you.

No, I don't think Great Whites or Tiger sharks really think they are going to be attacked....I don't think they care. They are just hungry you look like a hurt seal.....you are dinner. They aren't going to go after you if you look strong, and worthy of a fight with them....

Alright, who said "CashforStash" 3x.....

Nurse sharks don't, right?

All sharks need to have water flowing through their gills to live. Some sharks can do this on their own while buried under the sand. Those sharks have spiracles, which is a small opening behind their eyes.....that force water across the shark’s gills so the shark can be still when it rests...

Pretty much.

In pelagic (or open-ocean) sharks, the spiracle is greatly reduced whereas in sharks with a near-shore/near-bottom habitat, the spiracle is less reduced and actually functions to this end. I'm fairly certain that all sharks have spiracles, though, technically speaking.

Mother****er thinks he's Brock Sampson and ****. Get outta here.

Should I point out that the ratio of sharks killed by humans to humans killed by sharks is millions to one?

I was jokeing.

But whats the ratio of sharks killing humans to humans killing sharks in a close combat situation, hmmm? You think a sharks biggest threat is scuba diving *****e-bags?
