SPRINGFIELD, Va. - A Springfield, Virginia man is facing an indecent exposure charge after a passerby spotted the man naked in his kitchen and reported it to police.

Eric Williamson, 29, is a commercial diver who grew up in Hawaii and rents home with several co-workers. Williamson told FOX 5's Will Thomas his roommates were not home and he walked into the kitchen to make coffee about 5:30 a.m. Monday.

"Yes, I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me," Williamson said.

The complaint came from an unidentified woman who was walking with a 7-year-old boy. A Fairfax County Police spokesman said officers arrested Williamson for indecent exposure because they believe he wanted to be seen naked by the public.

Officer Bud Walker said officers also consulted the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and they were given the green light to proceed with the charge.

Williamson, who is father of a 5-year old girl, said he feels like the victim.

"I am a loving dad. Any of my friends and anyone knows that and there is not a chance on this planet I would ever, ever, ever do anything like that to a kid," he said.

Williamson is meeting with a lawyer to fight the charge and may attempt to seek damages from Fairfax County Police. If convicted on the misdemeanor charge, he would face up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Oh yes, because 5:30am is the perfect time for a person to be seen naked in his own house by the public:whatever:

Now, imagine if this was the other way around...Hmmm I wonder who would be arrested?

So the nekkid dude couldn't close the curtains, pull down the shades, or adjust the blinds?

What's the point of even calling the cops? If I'm walking and see someone naked in their own house, I'm turning my head and just not paying attention.....unless it's an extremely good looking chick, and if that was the case I'm sure I'd get busted instead of her going to jail.

Yeah, the man definitely should have shut his damn blinds, curtains, or something, but like E-Man said, what was the point of calling the cops? Maybe she was disgusted or whatever, but it's not like the dude was outside running around or something and it was 5:30 in the morning. She should have kept her ass walking down the street.

That lady blew it way out of proportion, I don't care what anyone says on her behalf.

Lesson: You can be naked in your house if you want, but at least pull the damned drapes so that no one can see you.

S**t. But I bet if it was a dude looking at a woman naked inside her house he would be arrested for being a perv.

Justice is feminist. :o

Its his own damn house, he doesn't have to put the curtains down.

She has no business looking into the house.

No doubt. Also, I can't believe the cops wasted their time with this. I would have guessed that they would have warned him at most, but actually charging him?

Good, lord... The level of stupidity. It was freaking 5:30 AM and he was making coffee. It was not like he was waiting for passer-bys and pressing his junk against the window.

  :wall:

I normally walk around the house naked and I haven't been spotted:oldrazz: Sucks to be that guy.

^Are you a hot chick?

I'm a male:csad: Though using a girl's name on the internet means everyone is nicer to you.:o

Do you mean "sexist"? Because believe it or not, "feminist" is not a synonym.

And come on guys, let's not be melodramatic here. If a man was passing by a woman's house and she was naked inside and the police found out he wouldn't be arrested.
Its his own damn house, he doesn't have to put the curtains down.

Okay, so if someone wants to expose themselves to people and not get in trouble for doing it, all they've gotta do is get naked in their house and pull the drapes, right? What a great idea for pervs!

This is so stupid. Firstly what in the world is a woman doing walkign with her 7yr old son at 5:30 in the morning
Secondly, the man was in his own house, he has EVERY right to be naked.
Thirdly, the woman should have never called the police.
and Lastly, the police should not have let the charges go through.

This is just wrong on so many levels *sigh*

Exactamundo.

It's his house. That lady had no business looking into his house in the first place.

So stupid.

So let me get this right. I get home from jogging and the first thing I want to do is to get out of those sweaty clothes. So if I walk around my house with just a jock-strap on is that considered indecent exposure too? My joint is covered up, but my azz is out for all the world to see, so...where do we draw the line? :whatever: It's called "The privacy of your own home" for a reason.

I think the lady was trying to see something. If you watch the video of his home, you'd have to put forth some serious effort to "accidentally" see him naked. Stalker much???

Agreed.

Why? His house, his curtains, it's not his responsibility to keep people from staring into his house.

The police are idiots here.:argh::shock.

This isn't exactly true either. While the prosecutor is pretty dumb the officer was doing what he was told to do. It's obvious that he didn't exactly jump at arresting the dude because he called someone else to get the word.

When a complaint is called in the cop has a duty to follow it through to the letter of the law, even if the law is stupid.

The real idiot here is the law.

It just makes no sense. The guy is in his own home minding his own business. It's not like he was dancing in front of the window making a point to be seen.
