I mean, you might not see it but just Google “Apollo Midnighter Batman Superman” and you can find like a dozen articles referring to them as Superman and Batman pastiches. They are even referred to as “the World’s Finest Couple” periodically, like they are in this one: Midnighter & Apollo: How the Authority’s Batman & Superman Flew Into the DCU

I think the Authority fit better coming much later, after we get more Superman in this universe and characters like Batman and Wonder Woman. The Authority would fit better behind one of those doors in Peacemaker’s father’s pocket universe. Can you imagine Peacemaker meeting Jenny Sparks in a bar after opening one of those doors. It would absolutely be hilarious.

Midnighter is a combination of Taskmaster and Rorschach. Apollo is more Captain Marvel and Gladiator than Superman but I get the Supes comparisons.

Well here we go! Let’s talk about new characters who will hopefully be introduced in this film.

Obviously I’m hoping we see Brainiac because dammit, Lex isn’t Superman’s only enemy.

Dave is Mongul or maybe Parasite IMO. He could look like Brainiac and maybe play the role but he just feels so spot-on for Mngul. Like he was born to play him.

I know the DCAU Braniac is a classic but I'd be interested to see if Gunn goes the Colu cyborg route w/ Brainy
