Barring the current games out now since those are technically the best graphics, do you remember from years back the first time you saw a video game and was shocked at how good the graphics were because you had never seen any like it? I remember when I first saw the commercials for Punch-Out for NES and in Nintendo Power back in the late 80s...I was like 
Most games before then just had extremely pixelated characters, no animation per a few frames, and weren't that big.
