Man vs. Wild

seriously though he has a camera crew

That is why I don't like it. He claims to be stranded, but then you see a camera follow behind him.

At least with Survivorman there is an illusion that he is alone. They show him going back to pick up the camera, & stuff like that.

It kinda sucks compared to survivorman that's my opinion though

Bear explained on both Letterman and Conan why there is camera crew that follows him. One, it's to film the footage and two he explained that the camera crew has there own tents to sleep in while Bear finds and makes his own shelter. They also go through what Bear does.

Survivorman>Man vs. Wild.

I would agree, but ive heard more than once that Man Vs Wild is fake.Mostly since people cant explain how Bear`s camera crew is constantly with him,he climbs up a tree, there is 2 cameras there. He`s falling off a mountain, the cameras already catch him falling. He`s wet from swimming in a lake, and he`s dry the next minute.

The whole point of the show is to help you if you are stranded in some part of the world.

Survivorman is better for the average Joe since a lot of the stuff he does a normal person should be able to do.

Man vs. Wild is great entertainment but I doubt many of us would be able to descend a cliff side or do half of the things he does.

I like both shows.

That's a damn lie, about the swimming thing anyway. Ever thought about editing? They show him in the water, then next show him 1 hour later when he's dry..duh. And when he's up in a tree, or in his make shift shelter he carries a mini camera with him...or the crew goes up on another tree to film only, only they have climbing equipment to get the shot. He has explained this numerous times but ppl don't get it. The only time the camera crew is allowed to intervene is when there's a life and death situation....

Man vs Wild blows Survivor man out of the water... yes I know one doesn't use a camera crew... but Bear does the extremes... I mean cmon... eating dead things raw... doing the physical brunt work... the tough stunts... the extreme extremes... and I someone pointed out... who the **** drinks elephant dung... there really is no competition.

Yeah, Bear really pushes it to the limit when it comes to showing us how to survive. :woot:

Wes or Les or whatever the other guy's name is does the bare minimum... shelter, fire, cooked prey... and you'd never see him jumping in freezing water... or pulling himself out of a sink hole... Survivor Man doesn't take enough chances

I am a Coke drinker not Dew, so there you go.

Yeah, Bear has jumped into far worse and has managed to keep calm and shows us how to escape the situations if ever we were to come across them. There's going to be an episode where he jumps into something again and it really looks like it's going to be intense.

The new episode of Man vs. Wild is on right now, good episode so far.

I've not seen Survivorman, since my cable company doesn't get OLN.

But I've read about Survivorman and the host, and have seen a few episodes of Man vs. Wild.

I'll take the one with the guy who was in 21 SAS

Sheeps eyeballs..yuck! Is there anything Bear won't eat?!

The Discovery Channel should have an eating contest between Bear Grylls and Edgar Hansen from the Northwestern

I'm such a wuss, I couldnt watch him cutting the eyeball out. But I'd probably go with the sheep eyeball over the live tree frog , but thats just me. Really good episode though.

Does any one know of any talk about the show going to dvd?

Well in real life you're supposed to take as few chances as possible. Besides, the premise of the show is that he's alone, so if he were to screw up nobody would be there to bail his ass out.

Like I love Man vs. Wild, but in real life you'd be better off looking for a way to cross a river, or ravine or whatever it was he jumped into rather than trying to swim it.

I think i've seen just about every ep from season 1, but i don't remember; does anyone remember Bear taking a crap? Either he holds it well, or gets an enema before he goes out!

I know, he just goes all out when it comes to finding something to eat.

Cool man, last night's epiesode was a good one.

Any of you survival buffs, or whatver, answer this;

What's the significance of pointing the 3 o'clock point of your watch towards the sun, and the area between that and 12 o'clock is south(?).....?

I think that's what he always says.....

I loved the way he cooked that stuff though... it actually looked tasty...
