does anyone have the picture of the DC Comics east coast map? I've seen it on here before but can't find it anywhere...

the 2 main problems with that site are
a) is a lil old so some stuff may not be on it
b) writers/editors cant seem to keep the cities in one spot... they tend to change slightly or drastically depending on the writer and the story...

in Smallville it's in Kansas:confused::(

In reality everyone knows Gotham and Metropolis are both NYC. Gotham a 1940s shady NYC, Metropolis a bright NYC from the year 2213

In reality you just generalized something that only half of everyone or LESS believe...Metropolis and Gotham aren't in NY! NYC is it's own city, just check out the latest story arc in Nightwing... :explosion effect:

I understands that they technically aren't NYC, and that NYC is its own DC city, but c'mon. They are both NYC

I don't think so but if we were both DC writers, technically we could both get our way.

Thats because Smallville is complete and utter CRAP. For the past SEVENTY years, Metropolis has had a bay, hard to have a bay when you're in a land locked state like Kansas where the only water is puddles on the street.

I wouldn't know, I never watch that show. If I wanna watch a good Superhero show I'll pop in a disc of one of the animated series's

In the Silver Age the DC cities took the place of many of the cities of our world. Gotham was in the Carolinas. There was no NYC. Metropolis I think took up the area of NY and Boston and everything in between but I am not certain about that. They did say that Metropolis was bigger than anything in our world.Central and Keystone Cities were in Minnesota.

Where did you see that? Central and Keystone have always been in Missouri based off of Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri

Back in the 60's they published a comic that told about many of these things. I never saw the actual comic but it was refered to on a couple of occasions at least. It was advertised in the other comics.

True. Although, for a while I was assuming that Metropolis was in Illinois in Smallville. There is an actual Metropolis in Illinois. It's a small city, but I was thinking that in the Smallville-verse, it's alot bigger (and touching one of the great salt lakes, acounting for the bay) because of Luthor's money. And, you know, they just drove for several hours to get there.

Central and Keystone cities were across a river from each other and were essentially Minneapolis and St.Paul

Or Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri! They are specifically stated in the comics to be Keystone City, KANSAS and Central City, MISSOURI! Did you even look at the links I provided? Keystone was in Pennsylvania in the GA, and either Ohio or Kansas Post-Crisis. Central is in either Missouri or Ohio PC. Never once was EITHER stated to be in Minnesota. St. Paul and Minneapolis don't have a monopoly on Twin Cities you know.

Maybe I'm horribly wrong, but I always considered Gotham to be the DC Chicago, what with all the industrial grime, etc. and Metropolis to be NYC, even if Smallville says it's in Kansas/Missouri. The closest to Metropolis in Kansas/Missouri is St. Louis, and that's still a pretty big stretch.

I'm not so certain about the other cities.

Metropolis, IL is a small town - not a city.

And Countdown was incorrect with stating that it was in NY. Metropolis is in Delaware and Gotham is in New Jersey.
