In regards to "supernatural" zombies, I'd like to see something similar to Lucio Fulci's The Beyond get made.

He's talking about *waves hands around stupidly*

MAGIC!

Gotta love those zombies. That's one thing you got to admire about zombies, good cardiovascular fitness, no matter how much the humans run they always eventually tire and get eaten. :woot:

All zombies run nowadays, it's the new trend. They're trying to go with the more popular virus thing as opposed to them just being undead.

I call the running zombies the "Infected", while I call the slow moving ones the undead.

I prefer virus Zombies. Simply because there's a glimmer of hope that the world can be fixed. I don't like supernatural causes like "Oh, hell is full.". You can still have slow, flesh eating, undead Zombies, with a Virus being the cause. Recently they just chose to go with fast ones.

Someone has pointed out that those commandos and various scenes are Israeli soldiers so that part with them running from the ant zombie horde through a middle-eastern street is I guess in Jerusalem. So that part's sort of kind of like the book (except the point of Israel in the book was they actually did things correctly and put up a giant wall and cut most of Israel off from the outside world--thus there were not scenes where there were zombies in Jerusalem).

What the visual director said makes me want to brain him with a club but whatever. What was his point, that Ridley Scott should have had had CGI tigers with zero weight to them but he forced him to work with actual real tigers and it was just a crying shame?

Way too much CGI. It looks like a video game. The premise sounded intriguing, but the movie looks at best to be another I Am Legend (which is very mediocre). I think I am going to pass.

For me, giant masses of CGI creations just tune me out.

There's no connection to the scene. It's just emotionless/lifeless.

The mass horde of CGI zombies looked boring and looked liked something from "I am Legend"

It's basically someone at a computer going

"Look! I can copy and paste CGI models over and over"

A "Walking Dead" movie would have been better

Also, The Walking Dead's make-up work is so amazing that it blows Resident Evil and potentially this out of the water. I like my zombies to be rotting with this skull showing, not just dark make-up under the eyes.

Btw, what's the cause in Walking Dead for the Zombies? Virus or unknown?

Totally unknown and i actually like the fact they leave it a mystery in the comics and show.

It's a mystery in WWZ, too (the book, anyway). It starts in China but they don't really know how the guy got it.

Not as much, the origins are a mystery but it's clearly stated it's some sort of virus. The fact that a lot of it was spread due to illegal organ transplants plays off on the virus aspect.

In TWD there is absolutely no clue as to how or what started or what is the zombie apocalypse? It could be anything from a virus to magic essentially.

I guess, but (and this will prolly be the last of the TWD discussion from me to avoid spoilers and thread derailment...including spoiling myself lol) on TWD they seem to insinuate [blackout]that everyone is infected with whatever the virus/strain/disease/whatever is and that it's not really magic or something.[/blackout]

Not really a full explanation or anything, but it really doesn't seem like anything but a virus or whatnot to me.

Anyway, I like when there's no hard explanation, too. I don't think they necessarily need to show an origin in WWZ, either, even though it's the actual "start" of the outbreak.

^^^^^this

Btw, what's the cause in Walking Dead for the Zombies? Virus or unknown?

Like Bruce Malone said, it's unknown what started the Zombie Apocalypse in TWD, but Kirkman had to tell Image it was caused by aliens in order to get it pitched, but thats not the cause.

I just rewatched Quantum of Solace... I'm now sad for this movie.

Just remember that Ghost Rider 2 and Texas Chainsaw 3d went to similar lengths to have neat poster art.
