Eh, I've learned not to judge special effects from teaser tailers watched on my laptop. From that view, even the hobbit looks bad.

Wow, what an exciting poster!!!

...*cough*

Also I really hope the Battle of Yonkers is in this. It is integral to the book and what the book does, pointing out the flaws in our confidence in high tech military strategies.

It looks to me like Yonkers is possibly gonna be the initial battle. But, we'll see, I guess.

As for the CGI, like I said before I don't have a problem with the running or herding zombies, they just look stupid spilling forward like they are in the trailer. In concept, it's neat, but in practicality it looks kind of cheesy IMO. I'm not entirely convinced that's what a sprawling herd of people would look like; it wouldn't be like a living organism lol.

Lol, you'd expect to see that kind of poster at some convention when its two years out not when its coming out in 7 months. If they only had the Z I'd think we have another DBZ movie.

Keep in mind this thing is planned as a trilogy, so the first movie may just be the world going to hell and Pitt's character unsuccessfully trying to prevent it.

Yonkers may not happen until the very end of the movie, or somewhere in the second, if they're going to split the book up into 3 movies. We might not even get the Reddeker Plan in the first film.

Also, the poster is meh. If they were going to just do that then just use the book cover.

I like that poster, but then again I prefer simplistic minimilism to the photoshped vomit we usually get.

Well it says it's a teaser poster, not the theatrical poster.

Yikes, people on the YouTube are enraged about the changes from the book. I also had trouble with those issues but jeezum crow people

First I have heard of this.

We'll see. Pitt puts a lot of butts in seats (and typically doesnt do bad movies) and zombies are pretty hot right now.

I'm not holding my breath for a sequel or trilogy this early. We'll see how it does at the box office.

Pitt is a moneymaker for sure, but Cloud Atlas recently proved that doesn't always matter lol.

Ummm, yeah.... I think I'll stick with " The Walking Dead ".

Yonkers is a pretty early event though, It was very much about the U.S. showing off how well it could face the threat. Which of course it couldn't leading to everything going to crap.

i really want this to be good. but with all the problems that happened during production and how the zombies look & move in that trailer, my expectations are now pretty low.

Teaser clip looked pretty damn cool. Stil DO NOT like the idea of running zombies.

Yeah that's youtube but this movie has been pretty plagued already, bad word of mouth going in is not going to help.

I'm a big fan of the book and so what i've seen doesn't really impress me so far. However if it's a good movie in of itself i won't have a huge issue.

My worry is the attempt to turn it into a big I Am Legend/Michael Bay thing. The book was so much more layered than that. Making the zombies into an unstoppable running horde is evident of that. One of the reasons in the book the military at first underestimates the threat of them is the fact that they are a bunch of slow stumbling walkers.

You'd think The walking dead proved that slow moving zombies can be scary.

From everything I've read about the book, I think a miniseries might've been the better way to go. This just looks like summer blockbuster ****.

^^^

You are probably right about that. It would have turned out looking like a combination of District-9 and the Walking Dead.

HBO miniseries like Band of Brothers would've been a smarter choice.

You can't release something like this in summer and not have it be spectacle. If you wanted the subdued version, tv or releasing it in a non blockbuster month would have worked. They're hoping to get hundreds of millions off this thing.

Yeah, but District 9 was a summer release and it wasn't a straight up spectacle. It was also very successful while still being innovative.

Not trying to pre-judge the movie or whatever, either...it could end up being smart, too. Just saying summer movie doesn't always have to equate to brainless Michael Bay blockbuster.

August movies don't count. :oldrazz:
