I just saw it earlier today and it was a decent film, not great, but not bad neither. I saw it in 3D, not sure if it was that or what, but the in ur face scenes were hard to focus on(some shaky camera stuff in this movie). So, maybe I should of seen it in 2D.

my friends who saw the trailers never thought it was a zombie movie either so it wasn't obvious too people that never heard of the book they never showed a face of one in the trailer I was shocked it did 62mill thought maybe 40 to 45 mill it has a chance now to clear that 200mill budget domestically

I haven't seen a single trailer that indicated zombies whatsoever. If I didn't know the source material (like your average Joe) I'd probably have no idea it was a zombie movie either. It's not like they showed you a zombie up close in any of the trailers.

The trailers make it look like Brad Pitt vs. Really Fast Crazy People. Most people I know had no idea that those were supposed to be zombies.

Seeing it tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it.

wow, they really ****ed up Matthew Fox's role in the movie............... i saw him twice, blink and miss scenes, wtf.

Anybody knows why? Did Brad cut his role out so he is the main star and nobody else?

For those who've seen it, do we get actual zombies in makeup or is it all just CGI people?

Combination of both. Closeups and scenes where they're not really emaciated are actors. Mass groups and ones that are really anorexic looking are CG.

Well...that ending sucks.

Glad they changed it. Money and time well spent, I say...

Well if anyone sees the movie twice and in 2D and 3D let us know if some of the fast moving scenes were easier to digest in 2D? I for some reason had a hard time focusing on some of the close up sequences in 3D(Maybe its just my old eyes or I was sitting too close).
More I think about the movie the more I did enjoy it, I think this will make a good Blu Ray movie to own and watch at your own pace.

Hahaha yeah cuz Brad Pitt is afraid of Matthew Fox upstaging him. Haha he wasn't even in the top 5 best actors in his own show

Why would Brad Pitt be threatened by the guy from Party of Five and Lost?

Well that movie was awesome. I am not a fan of zombie movies, I think they're dumb, I'm not a fan of slow zombies. Because they're not scary. The Walking Dead to me has the right idea about a zombie apocalypse where the humans are the biggest threat but that show is riddled with complete stupidity. Anyways, this movie is what I want to see with a zombie apocalypse. To me this is terrifying, zombies that are.crazy fast and willing to do anything to get people. Those huge epic shots of them just running around killing people were amazing. That's the word to describe this movie, epic. It's huge, globe spanning and you know what you can tell there's inspiration from the book there. How he goes around trying to find a way to stop. I think it needed a bit better of s script but this was probably my third favorite movie of the year. Really huge and really fun. 8/10

I liked how the climax was more of a low key horror movie thing than some big setpiece.

Most of it is CGI.....

Only a few closeup zombies in the beginning of the film and the ones at the end of the flim in wales seem to be zombies in makeup.

Completely CGI, except for a few at the end that my audience laughing.

And in the big crowd scenes, it looked like someone just put the camera at the end of a loose fire hose and let it go, because you couldn't follow anything that was going on whenever you saw herds of them.

I thought it was terrible. Too tame to be a decent zombie movie, too many gaps in logic to take any of it seriously.

Loved it. Proof that you don't need blood and gore to induce tension.

I think that was probably the only part of the movie with any intensity at all.

Overall, one of the most indifferent feelings I've had coming out of a movie in a long time.

It's just the same footage on the trailer repeated for 100 minutes or so.

I'll give them credit for thinking of a cool way to avoid zombie bites on your arms though.

Well, Gerry was pretty genre savvy, which is what I liked. He pretty much figured out the **** you shouldn't do when it comes to zombies throughout the movie and didn't really make any stupid moves unless he just had no other option.

I was, like everyone else, pleasantly surprised with this movie. I'm happy it's doing well in theaters. I know it was pretty much only like 10% like the book it's based on. It was able to capture the basic concept of showing a zombie outbreak on a global level and how different countries would react. Whether it be blowing yourself up or [blackout]forcing your people to rip your teeth out.[/blackout] To me that was the major point of the book, showing the human factor. It wasn't about slow moving zombies or insane amounts of gore. It was about how people and governments would react to zombies. The movie was fairly good at capturing that aspect. I thought the treatment was actually pretty smart for something that they had to think of quickly to get this movie out. I hope the sequels, like this movie, focuses on the global factor and I think it can bear the name, World War Z.

That one zombified black doctor in the WHO lab....man, that was the one that kept getting laughs because of the faces she was making.

Some of them were real people, right? Like all the zombies at WHO were real?

I agree. I also thought that Pitt was really good and that he formed a cool "action couple" for lack of a better word with the young Israeli Soldier, who was also excellent, in their portion of the film together. 8/10 for me too.
