marcolivier0110's art thread!

wow thanks matt! It took me quite a while to work out that shape lol, I had to do a lot of pratice to get it "right". Anyway, it's great to have your appreciation:)

quick sketch i did in my spare time, working on the positions of the body, proportions, etc...and women:P

Very impressive! You've definitely come a long way. There are 2 things bothering me about this pic, though:

1. The guy in a back looks a bit too big. This may be a stylistic choice, but he's overpowering the characters in the foreground.

2. The bar is angled, creating an interesting perspective. The right side of it is closer to the viewer than the left side. The guy in the back looks to be leaning on the bar, yet he is facing us directly. I think the piece may be more dynamic if you angled his body to match the bar, and had only his head facing us.

Or if you want to keep him facing us, change the position of his arms. have him holdng a drink or cleaning out a glass. Just something to show that he isn't leaning his weight on an object that technically wouldn't be under his hands.

As for the look of the whole piece, very good! You have three interesting characters, each with their own memorable pose. I can't wait to see more of your stuff!

thanks keith! Glad you like it:) About the guy in the back, yeah it was a stylistic choice, I wanted him to look a little bit like a giant:P

As for the angle of his arms, at first there was no perspective, the bar was supposed to be a straight line, so the pose of the guy in the back worked a lot better. But I decided to add the perpective, to make it more interesting. As you can tell, this is an unfinished piece and I will definitely need to work on his pose:)

Thanks for the advice and critiques, it is really appreciated and your post definitely made me want to finish that piece:)

thanks again!

Here's a poster ala Star Wars of a tv show from quebec called "Dans une galaxie près de chez vous" or the best way to translate the title would be " In a galaxy near you". People from my province really have a cult toward this show lol!

By the way, does anyone know how to scan 11x17 bristol board (comic book board)without having the blue lines and having a really good quality? Or a way to put it on my computer, because this quality is quite low, with an uneven light (I took a photo with a normal digital camera).

Thanks for the tips!

I tried to envision how Goku would look like if he was real (I tried as hard as I could to forget the horrible dragon ball live action movie...) and to do my own version.

An old drawing (dating from last march). Dunno why, the inspiration came after reading Watchmen and the sentence "The end is nigh". There are so many weird, disproportionate thing about it, but I still love it for the effort I've put in the background lol (which I'm sure you've noticed, I rarely do):) Let's hope I keep improving hehe

Thanks Rogue:), it means a lot to me that coming from you since your work is so outstanding!

I'm in a kind of Superman mood, so here's my latest work of him. Never really studied legs before. There not perfect but I think now I get the male anatomy and simply practice, practice and more practice will make me better at it.

This is going to be my last post for the next week since I'm going to Florida! Yeah!

Nice work solid and believable.

Your style reminds me of one of the artists that worked on the first doomsday arc in Superman.

Thanks KAD! I went to see my Death of Superman graphic novel (I believe it to be the first doomsday story arc, but I don't know the superman mythos perfectly hehe:)) and if you are talking about brett breeding who worked on the Superman title at the time, well I feel really honored to be compared to him:)

My thread is slowly dying while I'm away! So, I'm gonna post a work in progress of one of my work. I did that about a week ago, the actual drawing is a bit more advanced.

Update! I've been away for a while now. The forum is slower too so I guess many people are as busy as I am. But I couldn't resist trying some new PS technique on my Obi-Wan piece. Please give me advice as I want it to be really awesome:O
