I know a lot of people have mentioned similarities of Heath's Joker to others. Some have mention Heath's sounds a bit like Nicholson and others have mentioned Beetlejuice and Hamill's.

I just found this small clip and i have noticed that Heath and Hamill both played a Joker where his voice went high and low.

In the scene Hamil says "Me" and it sounds very much like Ledger's "..Like ME"!

I just thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share it with your guys and see if you see similarities with Hamil's and Ledgers - and if not then who??

For me Ledger and Hamil are the only two people to get the Joker voice right the way i kind of see how it "could" sound to the comic Joker.

:word:

There is the similarity between how Mark's and Heath's Joker are portrayed. They both, as you stated, fluxuate their speech and seem very charismatic. It only makes the character even better...

What im saying is...
When Nicholson played The Joker he pretty much just put on make-up, laughed and was his typical self.

Ledger and Hamil approached The Joker and played him pretty much in the same way as each other. I don't mean they sound exactly the same though.

Ledger and Hamil both created a voice for The Joker, they didn't use their own. They go kind of high with their voice and really low when speaking as the Joker.
I'm saying for me, they kind of took a similar take on the character.

Like when they both say "Me" they both decided to go very high with it. And yet they also tend to go down deep sometimes.

the very first laugh of the trailer, after the hospital explosion with the burning cards, reminds me very strongly of the hammil joker.

just thought i'd share that......

We have a rare case where one great actor set an excellent precedent for a character, and another great actor started from there and added even more goodness to the role. It's a concept called 'legacy' and it's a beautiful thing.

Out of all the previous incarnations of the Joker, Hamill's, heretofore, was the greatest. The most entertaining by far, the most menacing and the most charismatic. In a way, despite his all-mystery past, he was the most empathizable because he was, aside from perhaps Catwoman, the most extroverted.

Heath took that, and we can't say he didn't take that because all that is a part of who the Joker is now in the public conciousness, Heath took that and added a very deep distrubing darkness to it, something truly scary and totally visceral. He would have added that regardless, but without Hamill, the charisma, the entertainment value likely wouldn't have been there to be built off of. Nolan's Joker might have ended up closer to a horror film killer had it not been for Dini and Hamill... who knows?

But Hammill is an influence, just as he should be. Take the time you would spend reinventing the wheel and use that to improve the wheel... that seems to be what Heath did, and TDK will be better for it.

Hamil & Ledger's Joker's are definitely similar, especially as far as the laugh is concerned. Hamil may very well have been an influence of Ledger's.

Sorry, no.

Ledger Joker seems to be nothing like the Jokers we've seen before. And no, he is not close to the original Joker.

I doubt TAS was used as an influence. And Ledger certainly didn't try to imitate Hamill's voice. He just did his own thing, the laughs are a bit similar you could say, but hey, there's only a certain number of ways a person can laugh...

Can someone make a comparison video and put on youtube?

You have your opinion & I have mine's. I think Ledger & Hamil's Joker's are similar, you don't. That's that.

'Like me' was the only thing I noticed that was similar to Hamil, IMO. I'm not going to count the laugh, because like Socko said, there's only so many ways a person can laugh. It's an obvious, but right, laugh for The Joker to have.

I guess I'd have to say that the person with the closest look to Hamil's Joker would actually be Jack Nicholson.

Dude, if you're going to post, post more than that. Otherwise, it's just spamming.
