Mark Millar's Many Thoughts On Superman

The lack of news is pretty boring that we have resorted to talking about the use of the Williams theme in a movie again.

I think we are looking at 2012 at this point, the earliest.

well I think that there were really only 2 options when looking at the release date, 2010 because there isn't much competition, or 2012 because you will avoid Spider-man, Batman 3, Captain America and the avengers (if it goes according to the plan).

i was serious.

2012? this is after batman 3 for christ sake ......................

Well Superman Returns sucked alot.

And yes, I'm just teasing the SR fans, having a little fun.:oldrazz:
he he.
i think its more WBs fault that we are here. and i am also angry a little because of brandon. i will support the new movie. but i am sometimes thinking: dear lord only more action,a more easier story for summer and a smaller budget and they would make more money. more money and we would have in 2009 the sequel where they would fix some problems.
but NOOO: they had to spend 200 milions for SR's script. they had to give him so much freedom and think: its superman he will make milions.

WB had the final say, it's silly when people blame Singer. I blame WB the most because they signed off on SR and look where it got them.

I'm not a nut I wasn't hoping for the greatest movie of all time but what I got was pitiful.

As I said the day Robinov announced the reboot, they are "targeting" 2011, but "I think" that you are looking at 2012 the earliest.

2010 seems to be a bit of a stretch if you ask me, possible they are looking at winter. Robinov alluded to the Winter when discussing a Returns sequel if Returns had performed the way they hoped it would.

2011 seems to be pretty stacked for WB in the Summer, Winter, not as stacked.

"I think" we are looking at 2012.

I don't think winter would be the best time to release a Superman movie. This is a character with themes of life and the pursuit of happiness, not sleepy-time and Christmas ham. That, and I just realized how easily "the summer of Superman" rolls off the tongue.

Christmas worked pretty well for Superman: The Movie.

That movie made us believe a man could fly. If there's anything you can bank on, it's audiences flocking to see the next marvel in SFX.

Part of me thinks, take as much time as you need, and the other part is thinking, if you can't put together an origin story within 2 months than you shouldn't be the writer on the film. Obviously you want quality, but how long did it take goyer to come up with an outline for batman, same with iron man, ya they probably used elements of the previous script but once the right people got involved it got moving quickly. Origin films write themselves, they don't have to reinvent the character, go pick up birthright, man of steel and watch 2 episodes of STAS and you have a good basis and characterization. It's so simple its frustrating.

of course they should take their time. but IMO if you work on a script 1 year insted of 5 months that doesnt mean that i will automatic be better.

i think if you have a good idea you can do the basic story in one month. for the script? i dont know. of course they are other things that are important to make a new superman movie.

aha the 70's. this is a fair comparison?
