Mark Millar's Many Thoughts On Superman

It's far from a coincidence that Millar brings up Superman (again) mere days before this American Jesus project is announced.

It was brought up because someone made a thread in Millarworld asking about it.

Millarworld is so fitting.

Look. The guy is a self promoter, ain't nothing wrong with that. It works for him and he has had a great couple of years. A couple of his comic runs are in my top 5.

The problem is he has as much of a chance as getting Superman as Christopher Reeve does wearing the suit again. Why some websites are throwing up this non news about him and Superman is ridiculous.

...and terrible.
Exactely. He already had his chance and blew it. Can wB at least bring someone who could write a good movie and faithful to Superman of the comics, for god's sake? Someone who cares about the whole history of the character and can pick up the best elements of each era?

Maybe now the Orci and Kurtz are saying they won't do Transformers 3, we'll actually get them attached to Superman

What kills me are those who are still taking Millar at his word even after all the BS he's fabricated (and later admitted to doing so) for the sole purpose of getting himself and his projects press.

No one has been able to verify any of his recent claims of meeting with WB with his "big-name American action director" because (you guessed it) it's crap. And that's why I refuse to waste my time anymore with him on the site.

That is why when Clint contacted WB and asked about the Millar situation...

One of our contacts at Warner Bros knew nothing of the situation but did say, as far as he/she was aware, there was no movement on any "Superman" projec

Yea who knows what actually was going on/what millar was trying to do. I do hope who ever does end up writing the next superman big screen adventure they can write a good story and be someone i would actually want to see.

i posted the news for fun. to joke about it a little.

of course everyhthing was fake.

the guy is a hypocrite. he talks about making a movie that is faithfull to the comcis yet 1 year ago WANTED was realesed . and he loved it. he loved the money.

I was talking about JJ Abrahms.

Talking about J.J. Abrams...on a Mark Millar thread?!? *Head explodes!* :wow:

My bad. I stand by what I said though.
It's because Showtime said that it was a terrible take and I agree on that. I don't think Millar would do a terrible job with Superman but the guy talks way too much out of his A$$.

I don't think Millar would do a terrible take on Superman either. It all depends on the team that's put together. I do think he's doing too much talking for his own good. Internet fans will ***** and whine about everything.

Is Mark Millar still having boners over his proposed Superman project?
I would have thought it would have gone flat by now, lol.

SaveSuperman has finally cracked the code on why Mark Millar won't be doing the next Superman movie:

"I believe that there is a simpler reason for Millar’s project being shot down. The CW’s Smallville was just recently picked up for another season, meaning that the show wouldn’t end until at least May 2010. So, if Warner has any plans for Tom Welling donning the red tights onscreen, they’re not going to want to commit to a multi-year project that could delay that from happening."

Try to wrap your mind around that one. The best part is that the SaveSuperman zombies call themselves "Realists."

^Why are you guys so obsessed with the SaveSuperman website? Why do you spend any of your time visiting and discussing that website here? Is that website and Archangel really in your guys heads that much? Wouldn't it make more sense to just ignore the site and what he says instead of posting it here?

These guys must be incredibly desperate to see TW as Supes on the big screen. :funny: This reaching for straws is going to backfire on them big time when TW isn't cast. They'd be better off just dialing down their expectations.

Obsessed? It hasn't been brought up in over a month and a half by anyone (and only then because it was shut down under mysterious circumstances). Personally, I glance at it every once in a while to see what nonsense they are talking about.
Basically, looking at that site is akin to looking at a horrible car crash. You know it's terrible to look at, but you can't help it. And obviously you are going to tell your friends about the travesty you just witnessed.
As far as others on here who mention it more often that I do, I assure you that if anyone outside of SHH! had an opinion about you and chose to publicly mock you, you would not only want to read it, you would also want to defend yourself.

The majority of what I see is name calling from both sides. It's grade school stuff. I would think if one wants to show they are better than someone else, they wouldn't stoop to that person's level but rather just ignore them and move on. I know it's easier said than done, but I can tell you it rubs someone the wrong way more to be ignored, than it does to respond them(because at this point you are still giving that person attention and clearly showing that the person is on your mind).

Well I obviously don't need any more proof that this thread has run its course.
