'Martain Manhunter' spin off to replace 'Smallville' ???

I think the fact Zantanna is being introduced right after there is news that Tom Welling may not come back is not a coincidence.

Zantanna is the perfect fit for a CW Superhero show. I would want Olly to still be a main character in that show as well. I could even stomach the obvious Zantanna-Oliver-Diana love triangle.
PS3 mentioned they were appealing for the rights to use Zatanna at the start of the series

I'd really like a Martian Manhunter series...and with Phil Morris, it'd be awesome no doubt.

yea it would be great but since the cw as a network under dawn o control is all about female target demo of 18-35 it wouldnt fit with how she wants the network to be. It is going to be her fault for the destruction of the network which many see is possible to happen within a yr or even less. They should have totally dumped her last yr hire a more open minded president and widen their target demo and have more variety of shows like how all other networks are.

Well TBH I don't think the other networks have a variety. Look at CBS who's cash cow is CSI - how many CSI spin-offs and NCIS type shows have they thrown down the consumer's mouth?

NBC has it's comedy-sketch shows. I really think the CW really missed the boat w/ Aquaman because IMHO Aquaman is the worst character imaginable and they somehow struck gold w/ their pilot. I feel that if the CW wants to stay alive w/ ratings they need to exploit their own cash cow which is Smallville. There really are other properites that they could use. I don't think a live action Wonder Woman film will see the light of day but a live action TV show could really take off. They could use the "Justice League" from SV and just call them something else like "The Society" or something.

Anyway my mindless rant is over.

The CW not picking up Aquaman was bittersweet. It was a great pilot and I think they could have done well with the show had they picked it up. On the other hand, we wouldn't have gotten Hartley as Green Arrow (he's great as the character, IMO) and who knows where we would be with the Justic League by now.

yea it would be great if we get a solo ga, a live action league show(probably done in a brave and the bold style would keep budget down per episode) but with dawn o only after girlie teen drama shows we would likely not see it happen under her control. And their might not even be a cw left after this current tv season is over in may with the way all the other shows on the network are doing and the fall of the sunday night lineup(even though they were crappy shows).

the second Tom Welling decides hes had enough Smallville is done for, any spin-off will flop.

why you think that, there is a bunch of different spin offs they could do and if written right it could turn out to be a good show. Then whos to say welling wouldnt be open to do a guest spot once in awhile or even direct some episodes for them.

I love statement's like this - as if Phil Morris is a fantastic thespian and not the guy that played a parade announcer in Jingle All The Way.

Has Phil Morris shown anything special in his role on Smallville? Has he done ANYTHING to make the role his? Sorry but talking in a steady and deep voice does not a great actor make.

Flash AquaMan The Failed Batman The Grayson's Supergirl Green Arrow now Martin Manhunter everyone was suppose to have show Aquaman came the closet with a pilot.

He should. His character has the most potential for a series post-Smallville, I think.

Yea that is so true which sucks, it would probably be a good show justin is a pretty good actor.

yea a mm show was just a joke by the producers in that one interview, only aquaman was the one that happened were as ga/supergirl/and flash there were talks of ideas going around but in the end it never went anywhere which sucks. I would love to have a spin off happen. GA out of all the characters mention does have the better chance of holding his own show. But would love to see a jl/brave and the bold type of show with the smallville heroes. A brave and the bold style jl show would probably be the better way to handle them to keep episode budget down.

I still think a Zantana, Green Arrow, Black Canary show would be the strongest CW-styled show.

well we still have to find out if zatanna is actually going to be the character in that upcoming episode or if they couldnt get the rights.

I can't see the rights being a problem. I mean how much demand is there for Zantana?

The CW is so ignorant.

If done right, the two best DC television show possibilities would be The Flash and Nightwing. And you could make a Flash show about either Wally or Barry, but I would prefer Wally.

I don't want to see Nightwing without the Batman aspect - Nightwing sans Batman is less interesting than Mister Terrific.

I also don't think Flash is a hero that lends itself to a TV show format. A Flash movie? Hell yea. Flash tv show? Nah.

Now Animal Man/Detective Chimp? Hell yea.

well i could see if an actually knightwing series did happen the producers of said show might convince wb movie folks to atless have a small tiny 1-2min cameo of bats so we can get to see how their relationship fell apart. Then leave it at that, and maybe in future seasons get to see more things later on.
