BvS Martian Manhunter question.

I look and see many many pages to go through so I figure it just might be easier to ask here and then move on. Has there been any real word, not bizarre rumor If J'Onn J'Onzz will be in the movie? I know they trimmed him from the League for Cyborg (and no real idea why a Titan should be in the League) but I hold out hope he will show up on the big screen. Any info would be good, thanks.

IIRC, they called him only Jon Jonzz in the JL cartoon, but it would be nice to see someone refer to him by that name, maybe Perry or Lois.

And I'd rather see him enter in a grand way in JL 2 rather than the first movie which will already be focusing on new members like aquaman, flash, maybe GL. Maybe the plot of JL 2 can revolve around the reveal of life on Mars and MM.

Would fit into a JL2 film relatively easily as in the team search for more numbers across the universe, MM has such rich back story and ties in well with Superman's that he could incorporated because Kal feels empathy with MM for the being the last of his planet.

Personally, I've never really been a fan of the character, because
I always found him a bit similar to Superman -which kind of makes
one of them redundant on the JL, and since MM can do a whole bunch
of stuff Supes can't , the it's Supes who's redundant......and Supes is
never redundant.

However, when Supes wasn't really involved with the JL, back in the
Giffen days, I thought the character really moved streets ahead.

Having said that I reckon a JL film would benefit from having MM.

But, the difficulty you have with characters like Shazam and MM is that
to the general audience, (as I said) they're pretty similar to Superman.


Sure, comic book fans know the difference, but to work on the big screen
there should be significant points of difference - I suppose that if shape shifting and telepathy were shown as his primary powers that would work well.

As for Flash, GL, WW, Bats and Cyborg, well they're all radically different than Supes, so having them makes sense.

As for MM, why not ? Although I think casting would be all the difference.
The Rock....no, not cerebral enough. Provided it was done well, and with the right actor, why not indeed ?

Why not? They use the name 'Superman' in both Man of Steel and in the title for BvS... With the right context, MM is no less accurate of a name to be given to him by the people of Earth.

If the Arrow verse is the only place we get to see Martian Manhunter, that's fine with me. Arrow is the bomb, and i trust that team to do him justice.

I dont care much for him but at the same time it wouldn't bother me if he replaced Green Lantern. But i see the Flash/GL movie happening sometime. So i think MM won't appear. At least not in BvS. Maybe he'll show up in a cameo during Justice League and they'll use him for the sequel.

That's very gracious of Supes, but then he's just one hell of a guy.

Mind you he's beaten MM a bunch of times in various comics, as well
as taken down a White Martian.
Probably because MM has a really obvious and easily accessible weakness.
Which is why Batman takes out five white martians with a can of petrol
and a match.

And then there's this.........

Having said all that, MM has such versatile powers, particularly his shapeshifting and his telepathy and other mental powers. I think he certainly could defeat Superman, but he's such a nice guy he doesn't.

All in all, I think those powers are the ones that make MM most interesting,
if he does show up in a film, I hope they emphasize those ones
