Naturally, IMMORTAL IRON FIST #6 looks cool but it has got to either sell better or stablize an audience fast. It's been falling about ten sales slots an issue so far, and it has an A-list creative team and was advertised like hell.

Brubaker said that sales for Immortal Iron Fist #3 already went up do to early orders for the issue. Though #3 comes out next week (February 21), Brubaker thinks with Iron Fist's status as a New Avenger, and ofcourse his series, he thinks Immortal Iron Fist will get a good sales boost.

I like it because it is simple and gets rid of some of the old elements that dated it, like the collar and the ballet slippers. It maintains the colors (while dulling the green and gold to not be as flashy) and is sleek. If I had one complaint it would be the belt. The tails on that don't need to be so long. Bad enough the mask's tails all but beg an enemy to yank. But aside for that, it could be worse.

Very well said, you get it.

The collar is never dated, you just lack the sophistication to appreciate such an ensemble.

Actually, Dread's right. If you read the Director's Cut for #1, that came out yesterday, you would've seen the extras it featured. It had Aja's sketchbooks for his designs about the suit, and the characters in Immortal Iron Fist. He states that he, Brubaker, and Fraction all thought that Iron Fist's original suit needed an update. You see Cage running around with his original suit? No, Cage's attire has changed. Brubaker and team thought that with all the that was happening, Iron Fist's original suit would have worked in the 70's. Minor changes were made, but still the importance of the original suit was kept in the new verison. Iron Fist's suit has ninja boots instead of slippers, no open chest, but still has the tattoo in front as a symbol, and the original colors. There's nothing wrong with change, and if you saw the sketches, you would've seen more variations for the suit. The idea of giving Iron Fist a new suit happened when his original suit got destoryed by the Mechadragon. So, what better way for Danny to have someting new? More up to date? I like the new suit because it has a ninja-esque feel to it. It's decent, and I think it looks great in the preview pages for #3.

^Ditto. Out with the footies, in with the boots. or booties. Yes....in with the booties.

What's wrong with the slippers? It gave him an air of authenticity.

I'm plenty sophisticated, just collars are usually considered "outdated" costume elements, much like underoos and pirate boots.

Although this version of the costume was used for covers it never made into the actual content of the comic. It still keeps some kind of collar (although not the original one) and adds other elements that modernize it a bit. I know the gloves are very Kazuya/Jin/Tekken but they look cool, IMO. They took away the sash and the kung fu shoes that everyone seems to have a problem with for stuff that protect him more. They kept the open chest to showcase the dragon tattoo.

To me, this is a much better costume than the simplified one they're using now which sometimes makes me think got downgraded so that it would be easier to draw and depends on the abundance of flailing fabric (the sash and mask tips) to give it some flair.

I liked this outfit too and was irked it didn't see interior art. Again, to me the danged collar complicates it; without that it'd be flawless to me.

Hopefully it will; to me it's another quality relaunch and it was properly advertised with a good creative team; I want it to succeed. Let's see if NA can boost any books of solo members. Does anyone know if it helped ALIAS' sales towards the end (as that was almost an unofficial Luke Cage book by the end)?

Of course, it will look interesting when Iron Fist is in his classic suit from Yu in NA, and in his new one from Aja in IF. Guess Black Costume Spidey is the only one worthy enough to get it right.

Very well said, you get it.

I try. Every costume change has some debate.

Aja's costume in a way loosely reminds me of the green/yellow costume that IF started wearing towards the later half of H4H in 1997-1998, although it is kept less detailed and looks more sleek. And I liked that H4H suit too. Heck, between that, the one shown on the covers of his "bleh" 2004 series, and this, I've liked every costume update Iron Fist has had, which isn't bad.

My only beef with the Aja suit is the belt, for the aforementioned reason. Considering Iron Fist is a sleek, speedy fighter he should want as few elements that drag or can be yanked as possible. Of course, Robin wears a cape, so...;)

You mean this Dread?

^sack of potatoes

Not really, I mean he's only right because he agrees with what Dread says, which is an opinion, not a fact, therefore, cannot be claimed as right or wrong. Only ASSHAT has those type of powers.

You told Punisher his opinion was flat out wrong for liking some aspects of War Journal lol

Exactly. Like I said, in the extras to the Immortal Iron Fist DC's Cut, Aja said he and Brubaker and Fraction wanted to update the suit. So, the suit shown in the #6 cover may not be his new suit. Because along with the new suit, were the variations of for other suits Iron Fist might wear. And he STILL had the collar and open chest.

Yeah, that suit was awesome.

I think the sales to Immortal Iron Fist will boost. I talked with Ed and he said he's sure of it. Do to IF being a New Avenger, he thinks there will be a boost in sales. Heck, he already said numbers went of for #3.

It's possible that Iron Fist can switch suits in New Avengers, but it's good to see him in his classic attire.

Agreed. Plus, there was said to be a reason to Iron Fist getting a costume change. So it's all good.

Yeah, the belt could be shortened. But other than that, it's an awesome suit.

Actually, he's not. You cant be right about an opinion.:whatever:

Wow, you misunderstood what I said. I said "Dread's right" about what he said for the collar and Danny's original outfit. In the DC Cut Aja said he and Brubaker thought it was outdated, so they wanted a suit change. I said Dread was right for the collar on the suit, and how it was close to waht Aja sald about it.

Not really, I mean he's only right because he agrees with what Dread says, which is an opinion, not a fact, therefore, cannot be claimed as right or wrong. Only ASSHAT has those type of powers.

Wow, again lol. What Dread said about the collar IS fact. Cause it was the same thing Aja said. He aswell thought the collar was outdated. So it is fact. Did you read the DC Cut?
