It's hillarious, cause just two years ago Marvel was taking Cryptic to court over the 'liscensing' issues.

I was certain it would be Ensemble since they were doing an MMO action RPG, which still hasn't been shown I guess. Hopefully Cryptic doesn't make this into just a Marvel-mod for City of Heroes.

CoH with set in the Marvel Universe with a VERY LARGE power set.

my favorite part about COH/V was the character customization...hopefully they expand on it even more for this.

Actually, do we know if there's character customization for this, or are we playing as Marvel's characters? I would think that this would be half the appeal of a Marvel MMO.

I seriously doubt you'll play as marvel characters...a million wolverines and spider-mans

I was thinking they'd probably just have one set of characters per server or something. Without the ability to play as Marvel characters, the difference between this and COH is kind of hard to see.

think of how many servers they'd have to have then...and how many pissed off people would buy the game wanting to be wolverine and end up having to be MODOK or something. The appeal is that it takes place in the MU, you can interact with characters from it (I bet they'll have people playing as the marvel characters that you can even team up with and such), and you can fight the villains from the MU.

The Marvel Universe heroes will be there for your custom player to interact with and give you mission and stuff. Like Star Wars for example...You wont be able to play as them.

What a perfect choice. This is a great idea, and I really hope they do great things with it.

I'm never going to play an MMO, but if I were, this would be it.

My only question is have they said whether a gold account is all you need or do you have to shell out 1000 points/month to play.

You'll probably have to pay to play. With most mmo's you usually do. Cost to keep the servers up can be pretty demanding.

Thing is that's what a gold live account does. So it should mean that any 360 MMO wouldn't have the same volume of overhead a PC one would.

It's also cool that people on PC's can play with people on the 360.
