So big Marvel NOW stuff is gonna feature Black Fury, Cable, Ant-Man, the new Nova, kid Loki, the Young Avengers, the new Teen Brigade, and some others? That sounds moderately intriguing...

I thought this had might have possibly been a strike team that Fury Jr was putting together but I'm getting the feeling that this is just another NOW promo since it's a mish mash of characters.

Also, somebody from Marvel recently said at SDCC that there were no plans for any of the Young Avengers.

So, what exactly is Marvel Now? And what is Ultimate Nick Fury doing in that cover?

It looks like the cover to another Point One issue, like Marvel did for the stuff leading up to AvX. So I'm guessing those things on the file covers may not be related; they're just various things that'll be related to the NOW status quo.

The new Marvel status quo launching in October.

And that's not the Ultimate NF. The 616 Fury banged a black chick and had a son.

Is it wrong that the worst thing about Black Fury, Jr. to me is still his costume? That s*** worked for Cap, but it looks so weird on him.

Really? Seems like Ultimate Nick Fury has made a big in pact, not only on film but on the mainstream Marvel Universe too.

Well a similar thing worked for John Walker and the US Agent costume. If they want to sell him better they should have gave him his own look instead of giving him Steve's old laundry. But then again, he's modeled after Ultimate Fury so that goes right out the window.

What I mean is that Steve is a much more overtly patriotic character, so the stars and stripes motif works for him. On a more hardened, morally ambiguous spy character like Fury, it comes off kind of goofy. Should've just stuck him in the standard SHIELD jumpsuit or, since the intent was obviously to create synergy between the movies and the comics, give him movie Fury's trademark leather trenchcoat.

Well, that's obviously not an option. Like a fat dude who needs to buy two tickets to fly on a plane, Sam Jackson's appeal is just too wide.

Ya that point one book is probably just going to be a thing showing us new nick fury been doing and what herroes he has been looking into.

I can deal with the suit. S.H.I.E.L.D. has essentially turned into an American organization now and the symbolism looks more like a military symbol than that of an overtly patriotic one.

You think so? It's a star and stripes. That screams "Murr'ca, f*** yeah!" to me.

Maybe, on some level, it breaks down to the fact that I just really like that leather trenchcoat look on Fury, black or white...

Yeah, well like Axel Alonso basically said last week at Comic-Con, we keep eating this crap up and they'll keep serving it. Money talks, BS walks.

Axel Alonso actually said that? Did he quit being EiC or something?

LOL, no sorry man I was paraphrasing. He commented on the yearly events and said that the sales don't indicate that fans are sick of them, so Marvel is going to keep producing them.

Star Lord? Nice. And he's got his better uniform again.

Star Lord! With his proper costume..and his proper hair color!

I am so excited! :D
