We have yet to see the full Cyclops costume though. Just that lousy promo piece from Quesada.

You can tell I'm holding out hope.....probably for nothing.:csad:

Remember when the x-men went all black leather? Yeah....

Actually, looking at that Quesada piece - Thor's outfit is a different from the Uncanny Avengers one by Cassaday (the legs are the current 616 whereas the Uncanny image has movie pants), and I could be wrong, but it looks like Spidey is missing the bits that run down the side of his upper arms (and it's not the angle) - assuming they don't balls things right up and change his costume to half-mimic the movie costume too.

But yeah - the Cyclops visor is just terrible (and whoever designed that clearly also chose to bring back Havok's crappy head gear too)

Course, we've also got Mainframe Iron Man (MC2 for those unfamiliar), and Thor's packing some giant swords on his back too - so who knows what we should and shouldn't accept as the state of things to come.

and who knows if those are full suits though could just be cover images/varient looks and in books they are not to different from norm. What cover you talking about spiderman and thor with swords. Was checking out some covers and ones I seen spidey looks norm as usual and only one thorr cover had movie look other look classic/current looks. Plus like others said each artist will have differences in looks.

Yeah but there still needs to be uniformity of some sort. It's one thing if a guy likes to draw Spidey with big eye holes and another guy doesn't as opposed to removing actual sections of the uniform. Thor having a secondary weapon in one piece but not in another is bizarre at best.

I get the feeling Marvel is brainstorming publicly to gauge interest from fans. It's like throwing s**t at the wall to see what sticks.

What is the cover your taking about I like to see the one.

So do the character books like Amazing Spider-Man keep their current direction, or is this new foolery line wide like Heroes Reborn?

the solo books likely will be same old same old and just retooling of the avengers/xmen books with members joining/changing teams.

The full scope has yet to be totally revealed but I think it's going to be a bunch of relaunches and creative shuffles which could pay off in the long run for all we know. The Avengers and X-Men teams are seeing the most changes as stated above.

The leather worked well for some characters but not all of them. I enjoyed the look for Scott and Jean but not for Logan or Beast.

I thought Logan was one of the oens that wore it the best

Well, there he was at least wearing a shirt. 95% of the time he was running around with an unzipped jacket and extremely hairy chest.

Yeah, shirtless Wolverine was not a good look. God, the smell of that jacket after he came home must've been unbelievable. :csad:

Cyclops looked awesome in the leather. I still think his best look was the zipped up leather jacket uniform.

Well, that was a major beef I had with the leather (apart from them being superheroes but thinking biker gear would help reduce fear of mutants) - how is the sweatiest material known to man a good example of "looking more military-like"? A hand to hand fight would be about one minute before the X-Man would be passing out from heat exhaustion and easy pickings for a forehead tap knockdown.

Plus of course: "We've got these stretch fabrics made by Mr Fantastic that are as durable as kevlar and fireproof to boot; plus we'll be able to move more freely for those of you with agility or speed based powers. Who wants to give them a go? --------- No? No one? What's that? What's in the back there? Oh, those're just spare jackets of Logan's for when he's on his bike. I'm sorry you want to what? You think those would be better? Bit sweaty aren't th-- really? Well okay then. But we better bring along the baby powder, cos man are we gonna have trouble getting those back on if anyone needs some air."

Scott looked all kinds of awesome when he donned the leather New X-Men jacket during Whedon's run.

I think he's saying that Land will trace Downey for his 'drawings' of Stark.
