Marvel Prepping Four Series and a Miniseries

I think this approach does work better. All four of these characters are plenty interesting enough to fill 13 episodes on their own.

Man this is exciting but it seems so far away. Wonder how long it'll be until we getting some details?

Perfect person to play Iron Fist in my mind.

According to Iger, the shows are hitting in 2016...not 2015.

Meanwhile, though the official press stated that the Netflix shows would kick off in 2015, Iger seems to indicate fans will have to wait a touch longer. "This is a really smart deal we think, for Netflix because they've done well already with some investments in original programming," he told Bloomberg, pretty proud of his own work. "And turning to branded programming is a smart and big step for them and Marvel certainly provides that. This gives us an opportunity to create and own four new series that Netflix will have exclusivity [on] for a period of time, starting in 2016, when the series are made available to them...These will be well-produced series that will take production investment to deliver the type of quality that we promised to Netflix." Perhaps it makes more sense to launch the shows after "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," speaking of which...

I haven't watched any of Netflix's shows but does this mean that when the new shows will be available that we will get acces to the full season right away?

Haha, yeah well that way one can build up a lot of suspense and excitement in waiting for the next episode. That doesn't happen when you watch it all in one go.

Probably San Diego Comic Con.

Netflix has said in the past they'd be willing to try other methods, but most likely yes.

Personally I'd be ok with them releasing them all over a month. 3 for the first three Fridays, then 4 for the final one.

Only reason being is it'd help capture some of the fan culture you lose when they all are just dumped out at once.

The fact that the four solo series are thirteen episodes a piece, adding to fifty-two episodes suggests once a week for a year. They are building to a group mini-series. And the start date of 2016, fits with the speculated release of the Doctor Strange movie. But all of that is just speculation.

If they are 40 minute + episodes, i'd prefer one episode a week.

i'm thinking this, but probably;

2015 - daredevil
2016 - jessica jones
2017 - luke cage
2018 - iron fist
2019 (maybe 2018) - the defenders

no chance marvel will shoot 5 tv series over 2013 and 2014 to have them all air in 2015. netflix shows generally have every episode available at once (eg: house of cards) which i also think makes everything airing in 2015 impossible. let's not forget marvel have a multi year plan (avengers 3 in 2018 or 2019?) so there's a very real chance they will do the same with tv

That seems like a really slow pace to me....logistically speaking a lot more plausible I guess.

Think the most logical thing is to just follow what the film Divison does with two a year. And release them in the lulls of the MCU film schedule.

For instance in 2016 there will be a movie in early May and Early July....so release one series in February and the other in the Fall. For 2015, November seems to make sense now that they moved up Antman. And 2017 it depends where the 2nd film would be released, last standalone in February then The Defenders mini series wherever it fits.

I personally think that having one episode a week is better for a series since it allows the fan base to talk about the show and speculate.

If they dump them all at once then there really isn't anything to talk about except maybe a cliffhanger ending which would then not be resolved until a whole year later. That said, if they release them all at once I would almost certainly binge watch them if they are any good :)

Him for the stunts and a good actor for the rest?

You know, I really think that could work. Just look at the Undisputed movies, he's pretty crazy skilled in both figting and acrobatics. I have no idea if he has any weapons training though.

Yep! Such a thrilling pic. I agree, they have to get it right. But I think Marvel has us covered. :cwink:

And LOL! That was good. :funny:

I hope so, action on TV has greatly improved so we should be good to go!

 :D

He used weapons in Ninja so I think he could certainly pull it off, but I wonder if Marvel could find a cheaper option who is simply a stunt man.

Yeah right I forgot about that movie.

They're an hour each.

Has this been confirmed? I was hoping for hour episodes, and it would make sense I suppose, as it seems to me that most drama and action base television is generally hour length shows while comedy television seems most commonly 1/2 hour length shows. So, hope it is true.

I'm pretty sure it said in the press release that they're hour-long episodes... Could be wrong though.
