Marvel Properties May Head for Television

I've been suggesting this for years....and hoping it would happen. So many properties could easily translate to TV.

a S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Avengers, even lesser known hero groups would work well.

Looking forward to seeing what projects come out of this development. Glad to hear that the ball is moving in some capacity in regards to TV format.

They can easily do heroes such as Blade (hey already done!), Daredevil and whatnot!

Tomb of Dracula. :o

Just get me my ****ing Moon Knight show and be done with it. :argh:

Here's hoping Disney puts on a Marvel Action Network and just leaves the people at Marvel to run it. No interference by Disney whatsoever!!

LOL:) I just looked at the acronym for Marvel Action Network, MANetwork, that looks cool

There are a ton of good properties that could be done well on tv without looking cheesy. The biggest thing is getting the people with money to make them sold on the idea. Time will tell, and I have a feeling that Fox's upcoming Human Target series will have some influence on future projects. If I'm not mistaken, it is a comic property, correct?

Correct, Sir Man of E.

Ehh.... I sense cancellation. I might be wrong, but I just cant see it taking off. It'll be this seasons Dollhouse.

I would not mind at all if some decent television shows were made especially from Marvel properties. I will have to wait and see how this news pans out.

I wouldn't mind a Heroes for Hire series or Alias but they would have problems with the latter's copyright infringement.

A pre-accident Fantastic Four would be awesome. Probably focus more on Reed and Doom's inventions creating havoc Fringe style leading up to the discovery of Unstable Molecules and the idea to go into space.

I wouldn't expect Disney to do much besides make some animated cartoons for their Disney channels and that'll be all. They make 52 episodes get their package ready cancel the show and move on to the next one. I don't see any serious dark stuff like Blade(the fact it has 3 r-rated movies, and a tv show from spike will stop Disney) or Moon Knight being made.

We'll see some the usuals(Spider-man, X-men, Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Fantastic Four) and the maybes(Heros for Hire, New Warriors, Nova)

And maybe one live action show for ABC every few years.

Extra thought here- I could really see them making a Heros for Hire cartoon. As it fits well with they're show The Replacements(Well the basic concept at least), expect its just, Cage, and Iron Fist being called to help people. If made though I would guess they would aim to make it in line with they're other action shows of late(Kim Possible, Jake Long) with more of a lean on the comedy than the action

Even though they did a tv movie of Power Pack (which I have on tape) and Generation Next it could be rebooted and done right. Power Pack could be done as an animated series. Gen-Next a live action.

A SHIELD spy show(perhaps like Alias or 24) is the most likely choice, IMO. Granted, the likes of Fury and BW probably wouldn't be in it too much, if at all. But other characters like Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Maria Hill, and Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine would be good to flesh out in the series. You could also use the series to introduce the criminal organizations like Hydra, AIM, Maggia, Hellfire Club, etc. Superheroes might get a brief mention in the series but the main stars would be the agents.

Heroes for Hire would be a great TV series. Kind of like the A Team only with superheroes.

More cartoons seem a given.

Live action seems dicier, considering Marvel's been pretty squarely in the superhero camp for almost 50 years now, albeit with excursions into horror, kung fu, space opera, humor, licensed properties, etc. along the way and superheroes are hard to do on a budget. The 70s monster craze and Conan is probably the last time that superheroes didn't dominate the Marvel line. Yeah, Heroes for Hire, a S.H.I.E.L.D. show, Power Pack, Damage Control, Moon Knight, and similar could work. Heck, maybe even cut in on the vampire craze with Tomb of Dracula. But, I suspect to make any of them work there will have to be some reimagining.

I could also see thinking outside the box for something like a Daily Bugle show, albeit I bet Sony has the rights to that specific property.

OMG (Smallville) that's so (Smallville) original. It could show (Smallville) them in college (Smallville) as roommates. (Smallville) then we could see Doom's early mystic (Smallville) ties. The Storm family (Smallville) and even Reed's father relationship (Smallville). They can call it "Fan-tastic" :whatever:

Happy New Year Bro! :yay:

I would not mind a straight up adaption to TV show of the Ultimate Fantastic Four line, starting at the begining. I always thought UFF was a smart reimagining of the classic FF.

I would be REALLY suprised if they did Nova. They'd be more likely to do Power Pack or other shows that they think appeal to kids. They haven't quite clicked to the fact that adults like Super Hero's too (and you think they would have gotten the point after Smallville)

I think this is great that this is finally happening. I agree with Mr.J about the idea for a Moon Knight show. The only thing difficult about this though might be which shows to what network. Blade had a show on spike and that didn't exactly do so hot. Which networks do you guys think would work best.

I think for a show like moonknight HBO would work. True Blood is a hit and Seeing as how Spector is a supernatural character I could see him fitting in on HBO. Punisher could finally get some respect Showtime or HBO could work, but does everyone get HBO or Showtime? I don't know, but I like this idea. Just no CW Network!

Don't worry. CW is Warner Brothers/DC. They'd never put it on there.

HBO is Time Warner as well, so I can see higher ups frowning on that possibility.

Power Pack for the Disney Channel makes a ton of sense. Franklin Richards too, but they'd have to get back the rights from Fox in all likelihood. Or do some sort of coproduction deal, which probably makes it less attractive.

I believe ABC is under the corporate umbrella, so there's that. I'm not sure what's a good fit though with ABC's dramas. Maybe Runaways.

Yeah, Cinemax is TW as well. Showtime is the best bet for a premium channel. It's owned by Viacom. Disney really doesn't have any premium channels that it owns as far as I know.
