Marvel Animation Marvel Studios Animation

And I am pretty sure that got shot down very quickly during the short stit era of the "don't promote something we don't own the live-action rights nor control them right now aka F4 and X-Men" phrase sadly.

Marvel Studios Animation could be a way to bring the actors who play the characters in live action (much like in What If?) to voice the younger versions of those characters without having to use de-aging technology. You can explore the journeys of Hank and Janet in the 1980's and 1990's without de-aging Michael Douglas (again) or Michelle Pfeiffer and just have them voice the characters (as Douglas did in What If?)

I remember when it was first announced Disney is buying Marvel everyone thought “oh well at least well get some good animation”. Since then…not much. I reckon it’s time for Disney to flex those muscles and give us some across the spider-verse level animation

X-Men '97
Spider-Man '98
Fantastic Four
New Mutants
X-Factor
X-Force
Avengers

All at the same level of '97.

Eh. I think the animation for X-Men '97 could look a lot better.

I'm just putting this here since it doesnt warrant a new thread that wont go nowhere.....I just binged Avengers: United They Stand for the first time since seeing it when I was a child in the 90s....thank god it was only 13 episodes.

The Good:
  • The cast - are they the most exciting? No. But it is likely the only time you will see this team leading a show. The only time where Ant-Man is the leader. Only time Wanda/Simon/Vision have a lowkey love triangle. Falcon was part of an Avengers show without Captain America/Steve Trevor long before he'd be flying solo in the MCU.
  • Wanda's accent - she isn't your usual boring sounding american. They embrace her being foreign.
  • Ongoing storylines that arent just dropped after an episode.
  • "Offing" Wonder Man at the beginning. I remembered nothing about this show except for the lineup so I was surprised that they sent him into a coma and grounded him so quickly.
  • Breaking the usual "2 females and 5 guys" to a superhero team trope. For once we got 3 females and 5 guys to a team.
  • We got some OG Agatha Harkness
  • The Sailor Moon-esque suit up scenes

The Bad:
  • Practically everything else lol. The show was beyond mediocre to downright bad. The animation is barely above passable.
  • The Sailor Moon-esque suit up scenes - first time isnt bad...reusing the animation for multiple episodes? Tacky.
  • They couldn't even afford a cool or wholely original opening sequence.
  • Tigra is Rogue-lite....but when you have the same VA...its bound to happen.
  • Hawkeye started out Wolverine-lite. THank god they switched the VA or he toned it down. But Hawkeye in general gets tossed more and more into the background as the season continues.
  • Wanda is....she was terrible in this lol. The only two phrases she knew were "Winds of Destiny...CHANGE!" and "Simon!" I'm still dumbfounded by what they did to her lol. Why did she have to use the same.exact.phrase. every.single.time. just to shoot a power blast?!? Yes she's in love with WM/Simon but having her mope around for 12 episodes straight was ridiculous.
  • It ends on a cliffhanger.

I would like to see a big 3d animated production for once. Not film, but a cartoon series with over 20 episodes per season. Its not gonna happen but thats like my ideal cartoon series. 13 episode just feels limiting to me, especially when they have hundreds of characters they could feature.

I saw some concept art from a cancelled Marvel Anthology series and I still think that's the best idea for a future show. You can use a wide variety of characters and settings and it doesn't need to be to adhere to any strict canon.

I would love to see a new X-Men cartoon set in its own continuity.

An anthology series is harder to gain a loyal following, especially if each episode is featuring different characters and setting/world.

[looks at how Star Wars Visions released a 3rd volume, with a short getting a full series]

Sure.

Aside from a new X-Men cartoon with its own continuity, I would be interested to see a 3D animated Fantastic 4 cartoon series.

i want a new Avengers or Fantastic 4 animated series....that are actually good and not part of mcu continuity
