Marvel's August 2014 Solicitations

I'm gonna frame my copy of GoTG #18. Rich finally back on paper. **** Sam!

Just a few thoughts....

Miracleman #9 is the birth issue. I'm curious to see how Marvel handles that.

I'm sick of Hawkeye's new costume. Can't he just go back to the old one already???

That cover to Uncanny Avengers is very nice.

Is there anybody who doesn't have a solo title this year? Storm, Rocket Raccoon, jeez.

I've really been enjoying Uncanny Avengers. But to finally move on from this current arc will be a nice change. I do love that cover too. Guess that means Wanda and Rogue are coming back real soon.

Why am I not seeing any Thor: God of Thunder solicitation?

Probably rebooting it
I mean, by Marvel standards it's pretty long in the tooth at this point... over 20 issues?? psssh that sh**'s got ta go

At least, it better not disappear for any length of time. It's literally the only book I'm reading now that Avengers is boring and the X-line is in shambles

He looks like he'll be an important player in All-New X-Factor, though. :oldrazz:

I'm not hating him over in that book. Perhaps my problem is mostly w/ that weirdo Warlock.

That GotG issue has me both excited and worried.

I'm glad that he's finally going to explain how Peter got back from the Cancerverse.

I'm worried that this will be the 'Rich is actually dead' confirmation. :(

At this point, I'll be glad to at least have an answer. I just hope Bendis doesn't think that'll lead to people like myself accepting Sam though. That fool is a placeholder til a more interesting adult takes the mantle.

I'm pretty sure Rich is going to actually be dead. I could see Bendis echoing Star-Lord's origin, where he cheats and screws over another guy to get the Star-Lord title, only Rich'll be that other guy this time. Or maybe Rich sacrifices himself so Peter at least one of them can get back or something. Either way, Sam's being pushed way too hard for me to believe Rich'll be coming back anytime soon. Only thing that'd change my mind is if Rich shows up in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, since whatever's going on in the movies has a lot of sway over what happens in the comics these days.

That'd really taint Star-Lord's current image, if he screwed Rich over to escape the Cancerverse. Rich showing up in the movie would be amazing.

I really hope Bendis doesn't pull that crap.

With everything Rich and Peter went through together over the course of Annihilation/Guardians/Nova, having Peter betray Rich to save his own life would just ruin the character and spit at his history.

I would much rather it be that Rich sacrificed himself to save Peter. That would give Peter a drive to do good and be completely in line with Rich's character.

That's Bendis's MO, ruining characters and spitting at history
So that's probably exactly what is gunna happen

Just a weird move to pull considering how like-able movie Star-Lord will be and Marvel's need to blur the line between the movieverse and comics.
