I can't see any thread for this going back the past month, and a forum search brings up nothing, so I've created a new thread. This IOS/Android app game is launched worldwide tomorrow. It's a free-to-download fighting game with Marvel characters. I played it at NYCC, and at first I actually thought it was a console game, the graphics were that great. Is anyone else planning on getting this?

Ah okay. You think it's worth giving this game its own thread?

it was. but there was this with alot marvel games not being good. It was also a hassle for me to keep up with each thread that turned out that way. some ofthem were all reprted to the amer ews media would sneak up on them & us in turn in reviews .

So I put some of them there with the exception of some exclusive ones to Nintendo so far disey infinity which actually a great game . I thought it would make easier. while we're discussion the issue of where are their good & awesome titles are.

Oooooh just noticed the game's available to download now!

Most of the Marvel IOS/ mobile titles weren't that great with the Exception of Spiderman Unlimited. well there avengers alliance(it's mostly Fact book game more the Ios tablet game) but it's spinoff tactic's died a horrible death.

I'm loving this game so far. I've gotten two three-star heroes so far. Graphics are incredible. Most of the game functions are good. None seem to stand out as "annoying" yet. We will see!

Honestly, this game is pretty fun and had so much potential. There's just so many things I'd do differently.

- PvP needs to be legitimate PvP. I mean, c'mon. This is the most glaringly obvious stupidity about this game.
- After the first month we should've started seeing a new character every week (at the very least 3 times a month). Marvel has an almost unlimited roster of fighters.
- These weekly contests should be shorter. Monday through Friday would been a substantial improvement. No one wants to/should have to play for a half an hour 9 times a day all week.
- Spruce up the victory stances, its mostly fine that some characters use the same models, but at least give them some of their character and charm.

/sigh. the worst part about this game is that Marvel fails so hard at video games all the time. Which is why I'd love to have one that is actually halfway decent. -__-

I've been playing it a bit and enjoying it. I think there's a number of ways they could've improved it though. The controls are simpler than they need to be imo, could you use more complexity/challenge.
And being able to at least have a couple character vetoes would be nice. There's some characters I just don't like.

Is it just me or is it impossible to actually land on the Punisher with Versus Crystals? -____-

Wow, as soon as I post this, they release an update that automatically gives you two of the new 2-star Punishers.

Games alright I guess, I got a 4 star Gamora which was pretty cool.

This looks very good for a phone game.

It's terribly addictive and being as a refuse to spend money on a freemium game that entails that I need grind very hard and frequently to make progress.

One thing is for sure is that the system is not randomized and you are always better off hoarding crystals and opening them 10 at the time than opening them as soon as you receive them.

Find out how Marvel's TV efforts are impacting its video games starting this month straight from the mouth of Marvel Games' Creative Director.

"Daredevil" & "Agents of SHIELD" Bring New Looks, Gameplay to Marvel Games
CBR News spoke with Marvel Games' Bill Rosemann about bringing Punisher, Elektra, Quake and more into Marvel's action-packed video games.

To celebrate the second season of Marvel's "Daredevil" on Netflix March 18 and the return of"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" to ABC's Tuesday night schedule tonight, CBR News has learned that five of Marvel's current video games will be getting new characters, costumes and even adventures over the coming months.
RELATED: "Avengers Academy" Enrolls Players In Marvel's Superhero Campus
The action-oriented adventure game "Marvel: Future Fight" will get uniforms for Elektra and Punisher inspired by "Daredevil" this month, while the action-packed RPG "Marvel Heroes 2016"will add TV-inspired outfits as alternate costumes for Daredevil, Punisher and Elektra. Elektra will also be added as a playable character later this month complete with the option to use her comic book costume. Meanwhile, the connect-3 combative puzzler "Marvel Puzzle Quest" will add Quake -- AKA Daisy Johnson, AKA Skye -- from "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." as a playable character, while the fighting game "Marvel: Contest of Champions" will have an in-game event with actressChloe Bennet, who plays the character on TV, as well as a Daredevil/Defenders crystal timed event. As if that weren't enough, later this year the cartoony action game "LEGO Marvel's Avengers" will release an add-on inspired by "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
To explain the ins and outs of the new additions, CBR News spoke with Bill Rosemann, Marvel Games' Creative Director, about what goes into coordinating an event like this, and what it all means for Marvel-loving gamers.

CBR News: We've spoken before about how Marvel Games will reach out to the developers of the games when there's a new movie or event in the comics and see if they want to do something fun with the corresponding characters. I'm curious, do the people who work on the movies, or in this case the TV shows, have any say in what the game people do?
The TV take on Daredevil" in "Marvel's Contest of Champions"

Bill Rosemann: The people on the TV side always have approval. There's a whole system of checks and balances. Once a game studio decides they want to do something, we reach out to our friends on the TV side for reference materials, and explain what the game people want to do. The game developers then take these materials -- which can including photographs or scripts or footage from the set -- and use them to make the in-game items, with us at Marvel Games working with them to make sure it's all right. Once we think it's done, we then take it to the TV group for approval.

"Daredevil" is a decidedly more adult show than "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Some Marvel Games, such as "Marvel Avengers Academy," are for younger audiences. In cases like this, do you guys tell the "Academy" people that no, they can't have the TV Daredevil, or do you say to them, "We don't think TV Daredevil works for your game but if you can think of a way to make it work..."?

That's a decision that we make internally at Marvel Games. It's part of our whole, "With great power comes great responsibility" agreement that we have with everyone we work with. It's why the "Daredevil" stuff is happening in "Marvel: Future Fight," "Marvel Heroes 2016," and "Marvel: Contest of Champions," because the people playing those games are older, while the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." context is coming to "Marvel Puzzle Quest" and "LEGO Marvel's Avengers," which skew younger.

In "Marvel: Future Fight" and "Marvel Heroes 2016," you're just adding costumes inspired by the "Daredevil" show, not those specific versions of the characters. Why the distinction?

Well, some of the games have these characters already, and there's established stories in the games for these characters, so it wouldn't make any sense to add what happens in the Netflix show to what's already happened in the game. That's why it makes sense to just add the costume from the show.
As for the costumes being "inspired" by the show, that's because the games all have their own art styles, and so they do their version of the costumes. They copy the costumes as closely as possible, but they also put their own spin on them.

Speaking of the reference materials, if the costume is inspired by a comic, you can just hand them a copy of the comic. But if it's based on a costume from a TV show, can they visit the set and look at the real costume, maybe even as it's being worn by the actor?

It all comes down to logistics. "Marvel: Contest of Champions" is made by a team in Vancouver, while "Marvel: Future Fight" is made in Korea. So it's not always feasible for them to go to the set. It's also a matter of timing. We sometimes start work on this stuff before the show even starts filming, when they just have the costume designed but haven't started shooting yet.

"Marvel Puzzle Quest" is adding Quake as a playable character, but unlike the costumes we just talked about, the game character is inspired by the comics as well as the show. Why is she a mix?
"Agents of SHIELD's" Quake in "Marvel Puzzle Quest"

When adding a new character, our game studios have access to everything: the comics, the movies, and the TV shows. But we allow the game developers to do what's best for their game. In the case of "Marvel Puzzle Quest," its had a history of being closely tied to the comics. So it made sense for them to not just look at Quake as she appears on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," but also how she's appeared in such comics as "Secret Warriors" and various "Avengers" comics.
Speaking of Quake, the actress who portrays her on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," Chloe Bennet, is doing an in-game event in "Marvel: Contest of Champions." What can you tell us about that?
It's like what we did previously with Clark Gregg [who plays Agent Coulson]. She'll recruit a team of heroes and villains, and players will have the opportunity to have their team battle her team in the game. But she, like Clark, won't be playing as if she was Quake, she'll be playing as herself.
And does she have to have Quake on her team?
I don't know. I wouldn't think so. I would imagine that they'd give her latitude in choosing who she wants.
Lastly, what can you tell us about the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" add-on for "LEGO Marvel’sAvengers"?
All I can say is that later in the year there will be DLC pack that will include both characters and content from "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." We'll reveal more information later, but I think you can image what that might mean.
"Marvel Heroes 2016" is out now on PC and Mac; "Marvel: Future Fight" and "Marvel: Contest of Champions" are out now for iOS and Android; "Marvel Puzzle Quest" is out now for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, iOS, Android, and PC; "LEGO Marvel's Avengers" is out now for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, WiiU, 3DS, and PC.

Jean Grey emerges in her most powerful form amidst the turmoil of Battlerealm!

More on Marvel.com: The Official Site for Marvel Movies, Characters, Comics, TV, & More
Want to harness the power of an undying universal constant and lay waste to Battlerealm? Look no further than Jean Grey, aka Phoenix, one of the most powerful X-Men ever.
Kabam Art Director Gabriel Frizzera and Systems Designer Simon Cameron dropped by to talk about Jean’s blazing new abilities and what players can expect from her and the Phoenix Force in “Marvel Contest of Champions.”
Marvel.com: The Collector’s tempting fate yet again by bringing an omega-level mutant and veritable cosmic force of nature to Battlerealm. Has he ever tried collecting coins? Maybe baseball cards? Might be less hazardous to his health.
Gabriel Frizzera: The Collector can’t help it, he absolutely needed to have the complete set of X-Men in his collection. He tried to play it safe by bringing “pre-Phoenix” teenage Jean Grey, but M.O.D.O.K.’s experiments unlocked the transformation and caused a lot of trouble for the mutants in The Contest.
Marvel.com: When it comes to her power set, Jean’s drawing on the fiery powers of the Phoenix right? She’s not just bringing telepathy and telekinesis to the table.
Gabriel Frizzera: Yep, she’s the full-fledged Phoenix. She’ll mess up your mind and scorch your body with her cosmic flames. But there’s a twist: this Phoenix was created by the combination of ISO-8/Terrigen, so she might be concealing a few unique characteristics. If you played Terrigenocide Terminus, you know the story of the Phoenix in the Battlerealm is only beginning.
Marvel.com: Let'’ talk a little about her abilities. What’s Right of the Phoenix all about?
Simon Cameron: Jean’s connection to the Phoenix Force is so powerful, that like her name sake she can never truly die. To represent this in game, we’ve given her a powerful comeback mechanic allowing her to cheat death. On receiving a blow that would knock her out of the fight, she gains a couple of seconds of invulnerability to regain her composure. Then, perhaps most importantly, depending on how strong her connection to the Phoenix Force is at that moment, she may also gain a powerful regeneration effect. Just like the venerable Arc Overload for Iron Man, this ability is available to the Phoenix, once per fight.
Marvel.com: Fury, Stun, and Incinerate round out her kit. What’s the fight flow for Phoenix? And Incinerate sounds absolutely brutal.
Simon Cameron: While the Phoenix is undeniably a massively powerful character, she’s always struggled with control. In-game we’ve tried to echo this feeling. She uses her special 1 and 2 attacks to strengthen and weaken her connection to the Phoenix Force. The stronger the connection, the faster she generates Furies. These are one of her key resources, as she spends them to increase her Special Attack damage, and having enough of them active also unlocks the Phoenix’s Incinerate and Armor Break abilities. Once she breaks higher Fury thresholds, the Phoenix enters an Overload state. While Overloading, she consumes rather than creates Furies, but gains on her hit Stun ability. Playing Phoenix is all about controlling her Phoenix Force connection, number of Furies and SP meter to keep her in the “sweet spot” for the fight you're currently in.

marveldynamicgalleryplaceholdercentered.jpg

Marvel.com: I love her “It’s Complicated” synergy with Cyclops and Wolverine. Could you guys dig into that a bit? I can't remember any other heroes having synergy with multiple teammates.
Simon Cameron: Good eye! This is one of the first times we’ve done it. The idea here is to offer more flexibility on who to include with your team to gain the bonus. Jean can’t gain the Synergy from both Cyclops and Wolverine at the same time, but can gain it by teaming up with either. Also the unique relationship between Jean, Scott, and Logan was a perfect opportunity to use this. Definitely look for more Synergies that make use of this functionality to really highlight special relationships between characters.
Marvel.com: When can we unleash the Phoenix Force for ourselves?
Simon Cameron: You may have already faced off against the Phoenix in Terrigenocide Terminus, but to get your own hands on her, check out her arena, which starts October 13! And as always keep an eye on in-game messaging for crystal possibilities!
Stay tuned to Marvel.com for more “Marvel Contest of Champions” news and interviews.

The past two years have seen a generous influx of heroes for Marvel's mobile title, Marvel Contest of Champions.
Just to cap off a pretty sweet year for its second anniversary, developer Kabam has offered some insights on the activity that has happened within the game. First off, the developer has released quite a number of characters in the game.
"The Kabam team has released 80 butt-kicking heroes and villains over the past two years, including everyone from the Uncanny X-Men to the Inhumans to the Avengers to cosmic threats like the Mad Titan Thanos. We've seen entirely original Champions hit the battlefield. No doubt somewhere The Collector's smiling."
Using these characters, players worldwide were able to log in a total of 957 million hours played. And during that time, Marvel Contest of Champions were able to attain 7.3 billion crystals and so many unlockables including gold, catalysts, and even Champions.
In the game, fans from over 240 countries were able to form 574 thousand alliances and fight 24 billion battles. Based on the numbers, Spider-Man seems to be a favorite, as he has been 1.45 billion battles, while Captain America has taken up the shield in 575 million fights. Even Black Bolt, the relatively new member as the King of Inhumans, used his sonic power in 547 million battles.
As far as the reigning 5-Star Champion goes, everyone's favorite seems to be Cyclops, followed by Doctor Strange as the most-used 4-Star fighter.
Kabam is not yet done with Marvel Contest of Champions, so make sure to tune in next year. for more.
