 I mean i think thats why Joey Q has done the whole unmasking so that he can generate buzz and find a way to have MJ get killed because of it. Thus freeing up (what he believes to be an unrelatable) Pete and giving additional guilt that could rival or exceed the guilt he feels about gwen or ben. At least that's what i think Joe is planning.:down :(

no, but something will definitely happen that will get Peter to switch sides. it MIGHT be Aunt May dying, or MJ leaving Peter, both directly related to Peter's unmasking. but I doubt JQ would have the cojones to kill MJ, specially since his dislike for their marriage is no secret.

I flipped through a comic today that had spidey (new costume) on the cover being dragged in the air by the Green Goblin like from an old issue

it said Mary Jane was dead in the opening text to describe wat is happeneing

Im not reading Spider-Man these days...

Joe Q has stated time and time again that he won't kill MJ. Granted I don't like the guy at all or trust him but, that's what he said.

yeah. I do think he wants to. badly. that's why I think he'll get MJ to leave Peter. that's easily undone when he inevitably regrets the decision (ie: when fans get pissed off and sales drop).

? what issue is this?

Do that and there is no salvaging the Spider-Man comics then.

It sounds like you're talking about "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man". It has the Hobgoblin (yes, he has green skin, so it should be "The Green Goblin") of 2211 kidnapping him after beating him up in the street.

That was Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

And Mary Jane isn't dead. The storyline has to do with multiple universes and different events happening.

Example: In one piece of time it was Aunt May who was killed by the burglar and Uncle Ben lived.

And so on, and so on. The main villain is Hobgoblin 2211 and caused a time rip by coming to the present, main universe, which brought back the Uncle Ben from the alternate timeline.

Yes, a little confusing but if you read the entire story arc it makes a lot more sense than I put it, and it's also a pretty fun read, in my opinion. Too many people flipped their lids when they saw Uncle Ben because they were like, "OMG they resurrected Uncle Ben!" But that's not what happened.

Word, picked up the new FNSM today and I dig the arc right now.
Makes for a much more entertaining read than the drivel that is pedalled in ASM every month. I really wanna see Spidey2099 show up tho..

You know, it's weird, because the MJ-Peter marriage works PERFECTLY in the daily strip.

ive seen it in stores...its not 616 i think its the one thats in the future or something...friendly neighbourhood maybe? anyway it got a burn it rating on ign (lowest rating possible) so dont expect much if anyone chooses to buy it its supposed to be really confusing at times.

she wouldnt leave him, the unmasking was supported - nay urged on by her!!

i really wish you'd change the title of this thread. it hasnt happened yet! and i keep seeing it and so i start to believe it might (as if one of you has evidence for it) and im trying to ignore that possibility!

I don't think she would, but if JQ could find any excuse to break them up...

what I'm thinking will happen is Iron Man will capture and torture Cap (remember, in a recent Wizard it was revealed that one hero would resort to torture; as it is, right now, I wouldn't put it past him), Spidey will find out and cross over to the other side.

it's certainly better than killing aunt May or MJ, but it just makes Iron Man more of a villain, which just makes this whole debacle suck even harder.

Well this is becoming Iron Man is Bush. What is even morei nsulting though is that it insinuates Spider-Man is as sheep-minded and simple as to be manipulated by a neo-con trampling over rights of human beings like Stark is being portrayed. Spider-Man is no one's sidekick or puppet, least of all a bad parody of Bush.

Oh well.

The story isn't over yet.

spider-man will switch sides. he'll outsmart tony and kick his ass, having a mjor hand in the outcome of the war. -- i should just post this on every thread. hmm, act think i have now *blushes*

They tried to kill her off and that was received with negative response, so they had to bring her back. Can't see them doing it again.

If Marvel is trying to portray Tony as a metaphor for W and as such say that Tony, (and by extension GWB,) is wrong and should be opposed then they are even more moronic than I first thought.

The Civil War writers are really trying hard to CONTORT the issue of super hero accountability into a civil liberities issue... MUCH like the liberal media is trying to CONTORT and DISTORT the issues surrounding the war on Islamic extremist terrorism. Anything to make Bush look bad... doesn't matter if it's true... doesn't matter if it prolongs the war... doesn't matter if it leads to convoluted story telling with poor analogies...
