Mass Effect 2

Yeah but it's those little choices that really made the first one.

Putting a gun to Conrad's face because he wanted to be a hero just like you.

Punching the female reporter because she had an agenda.

Saving or sacrificing those scientist in Bringing Down the Sky.

ok, so I'm trying to learn how to play as an adept, and I had a few questions.......

It is my understanding that biotic powers ( like Pull and Throw ) don't directly affect targets with shields, armor, or biotic barriers. Is that correct?

But certain powers, like Warp and Shockwave, can damage shields, armor, and barriers. And Singularity can "drain" shields, armor, and barriers. Is that correct?

Also, I've seen some Youtube vids of Adept playthroughs, and these ppl are using Singularity on an enemy and then detonating it with Warp.

Yet, when I use Singularity, by the time the cooldown ends so that I can use Warp, the Singularity effect wears off...........

Do I need to wait till I level up my powers to reduce the cooldowns so that I can do the Singulariy/Warp detonation combo?

thanks.

Yes.

Warp will deal damage to armor and barrier but not shields. Shockwave will stun shielded enemies and do a little damage to their protection.

Singularity does drain protection.

You need to use your power in conjunction with another Biotic teammate to get the Biotic combinations off.

So for example, you would activate Singularity and once their in the air Miranda would use her warp.

I suppose if you're fully maxed out on your skills and with upgrades you might be able to fire off Warp before your Sing wears off due to reduced cooldown times and such but that won't happen until the last 3rd of the game if at all.

You disappoint me yet again. :0

I have a PS3 but I haven't hooked it up yet. :x

I'm hoping I get a PS3 for Christmas. I have a feeling I will..and even if I do I'll still act surprise and jump up in victory. :o

I had a bunch of other stuff to do too, after which it was like 2 a.m., so I had to go to sleep. I don't live for you people, you know. :o

Anyway, the demo's pretty huge. A recap of ME 1, the prologue (i.e. "Normandy v1.0 Go Boom"), the escape from Lazarus Project HQ, and Mordin's whole recruitment segment. No notable differences that I could see between the PS3 version and the 360 version, but it's been a while since I played through those early parts on the 360, so our more eagle-eyed compatriots may spot things I missed.

Biggest disappointment for me was that the load times seemed just as long as on the 360. Granted, the demo's load times may not be reflective of the full game's, depending on how much the PS3 makes you install; plus, you get to avoid disc-swapping no matter what, so that's something.

So yeah, just as good on the PS3 as it was on the 360. People who passed on it because they didn't want to get a 360 are in for a treat.

How was the recap of ME1? What choices were you able to do?

No choices, just a cutscene recap telling you the basic story with the Reapers' return and the Citadel battle and stuff. The choices don't really matter a whole lot for the limited segments you play in the game anyway.

Interesting note: I chose a male Shep and it had Liara as the love interest who tries to help on the Normandy in the prologue. I could've sworn new male Sheps defaulted to Ashley in that role on the 360, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Yeah it's always going to use Liara now. That has nothing to do with who you romanced, she's just going to be the one to show up at the start from now on.

Huh. Guess they didn't want to bother dealing with who lived and who died in ME 1 for the demo.

That's how it'll be in the full version if what I read was correct, Liara's just going to be the one who shows up in the prologue from now on.

Ah, I can understand that, I guess. Maybe they want to use the prologue to establish her more solidly as an important member of Shep's crew, since the first game won't be available to actually talk to her and flesh out her and Shep's connection. Ashley/Kaidan still have those important Horizon scenes to show their connection to Shep.

They should have Mordin show up and just start singing....

Ya know, to **** with people.

He should sing the story of Mass Effect. It could be like when Threepio was telling the Ewoks Star Wars in Return of the Jedi.

Except without Ewoks so a thousand times better.
