Mass Effect 2

ok, picked up the DLC on sale the other night. I had some ME2 related questions.......

1. When I download the DLC, will that be available to all my Gamertags, or just the one I used to purchase and download the DLC?

2. Likewise, if I unlock a bonus power like Slam or Reave, will that be available to all my gamertags, or just the gamertag I used to unlock the power.

3. Finally, something I've noticed when I try to use the Vanguard Charge ability.........sometimes it won't work!!

Sometimes it will go through an obstacle and hit the target, other time my Shepard will say she can't get a lock. And sometimes, I'll be standing in front of the enemy with no obstruction, yet Shepard says she still can't get a lock.

Is there a reason why Charge doesn't work in some situations?

thanks.

1. I believe from what I read online that it will be available to all your gamertags as long it's on the same machine.

2. Don't know.

3. Don't know.

Regarding the question about Charge, Shepard only can't get a lock when you're directing a charge to an area that isn't available as part of the map. So if this is happening when you're right in front of an enemy, either you're not targeting the enemy (instead targeting past it) or it's a bug.

Wow. That was a short demo. I didn't play the spoiler section. Is it pretty big on the spoilers?

thanks!!

maybe it has to do with the targeting. I'll check it out again...........

As some of us thought more DLC is on the way

01/02/2011 - From BioWare's Cerberus Daily News Team

“OUT-OF-GAME NOTICE: The Cerberus Daily News will begin a hiatus on
January 24th, finishing its run of one full year. Daily postings will
cease except for three weeks in 2011: a week of posts will precede a
downloadable content release, and two more weeks will lead up to the
release of Mass Effect 3. The CDN team thanks fans for their attention,
comments, and feedback (both in and out of character!). We are sorry to
go, but we had fun -- we hope you did, too!”

Also cool tidbits in the Cerberus Daily News back in Nov:

11/28/2010 - Eldfell-Ashland Ships Destroyed in Nubian Expanse

“Eldfell-Ashland Energy has accused the Migrant Fleet of destroying a cruiser, three frigates, and six mining freighters in the Nubian Expanse over a mineral-rights dispute. The quarians denied all charges, saying that they last saw Eldfell-Ashland's ships retreating out of sensor range, presumably to refuel at their cruiser by the system's mass relay. Eldfell-Ashland spokesperson Yves Nevil responded: "Yesterday we lost contact with our ships out in the Expanse. Shortly afterward, we received a distress signal from the MSV Stanislaw reporting an 'alien attack.' We have very little doubt as to what happened here." Eldfell-Ashland officials are planning to go before the Council and ask that the Migrant Fleet be banned from Citadel space.”

11/30/2010 - Survivor Claims Massive Starship Destroyed Mining Fleet

“Earlier today, the Migrant Fleet rescued an Eldfell-Ashland Energy employee drifting through the Nubian Expanse in a lifepod. Navigator Camilla Gutierrez, the only survivor of the MSV Stanislaw, says that quarians had nothing to do with the attack that stranded her: "The ship's silhouette was just massive. There's no way the quarians had that monster in their Flotilla. I've never seen anything like it." Asked about the attack itself, Gutierrez reported, "They blew out our engines before we knew what hit us. Smoke was everywhere. I heard the captain yell something about boarders before he ordered us to the lifepods." Eldfell-Ashland says it is relieved Gutierrez was recovered, but that the Citadel investigation should continue "until all parties involved are satisfied."”

So, the next DLC will only see the light of day in the fall.
Sad, but already expected.....the next DLC will make the bridge between ME2 and ME3

That isn't quite how I interpreted it.

Just wrapped up my ME2 playthrough.

I figure this'll be the one I import into ME3 since between work/class and the other games coming out this year I'm going to be full up. Maybe in the month leading up I'll do ME1/ME2 one more time so that I can get all three games back to back more or less but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

DA2 is on the horizon not to mention frakking Old Republic.

I'm using what little free time I have after kids go to sleep to play the first Mass Effect game, and I hope before the end of the year I'll be able to move on to ME2. I picked Soldier as Shepard's class, and I like it quite a bit, but will I be able to change this class if I port this character to ME2? Not saying that I want to, but I'm curious to know if they will give me the option to do so.

Yes again, you're taken back to the character creation screen after the prologue.

More Collector weapons please.
I'm hoping for more story goodness, myself. BioWare excels at writing great stories and characters, and there are plenty of weapons in the game as it is. Although I don't really think there are many loose ends left to tie up in further story-driven DLC.

so.........I'm finally giving the Soldier class a try. Want to create a type of "Wolverine" like Shepard...........lol. Figured Soldier would be the way to go.........

is Warp Ammo a good bonus talent for Soldiers? I would like to add some kind of Biotic power...........

It cuts through biotic barriers pretty well. If you want ammo that can handle any situation in lieu of powers or squadmates' abilities, it's probably worth looking into.

It might not be, but i think it makes sense, being that is going to be released two weeks before ME3
All I was saying is that there's nothing indicating they're necessarily tied to each other.

Until I hear from BioWare that there will only be one more piece of DLC, and it won't hit until two weeks before ME3, at least.

Alright, finally playing Mass Effect 1. The game is awesome. Except for one thing. Elevators are killing me. :wall:

And I thought Penny Arcade was exaggerating.

Haha. Oh come on, at least you get that bangin' Mass Effect elevator music to listen to.
