Mass Shootings/killings in America: the All Inclusive Thread

"Remember it's not about lack of gun control, but the underlying reasoning behind the individual's motivation." -Tucker Carslon

"It's not the time to talk about gun control"/"Don't politicize this tragedy"

Then in forty-eight hours or so when there's the next one, it won't be "the time" then either.

Have mandatory carry law, free ammo, legal murder. Let's have some fun. *Joker laugh*

They're now saying at least 18 dead.

I feel sorry for everyone affected. :csad:

Apparently the shooter is a 21 year-old white supremacist named Patrick Crusius.

It's interesting that they are saying the shooter was taken "without incident"....sounds like he just gave up. Wonder if that was because he ran out of ammo/gun jammed.....or if he didn't plan on going out shooting from the beginning?

Officially confirmed to be Patrick Crusius.

If his twitter profile is anything to go by, you’ll never guess who he was a big fan of.

That episode of South Park about the school shooting is really starting to become my reaction to this. I don't have any anger left...

Apparently he posted a manifesto on Facebook a few days ago.

Of course he is.
It's tragically ironic how your avvy speaks to this. As @C. Lee stated, he may have planned on being taken alive from the start so as to get a platform to inject his bigoted bull**** into the spotlight.

There's always a manifesto :whatever:

Apparently he praised Trump, The Wall, and the mosque shootings in New Zealand.

"Big surprise" to all of the above.

So this was about immigrants? Like killing the innocent will change anything he wants. :(

Terrifies me that here in America we can be at risk of being in a mass shooting, literally anywhere at any time.

So sad.

He said it was a response to "the Hispanic invasion of Texas" :whatever:
Similar to how the Garlic Festival shooter ranted against "Mestizos" and "Silicon Valley White *****".

But if we talk about how certain elected officials language and policies are egging this POV on in wider society we're the ones out of line...

It's a short manifesto, but no, most of this isn't true.

He only brought up Trump, by saying his politics and ideology predate Trump. He never even mentioned "the wall" in those terms, but he did support the Christ Church shooter. That's the only one that you got right.

His manifesto basically broke down into how he thinks America is being overrun by mass migration, that automation is expanding too rapidly, and that America will be dependent on UBI and corporations, and he goes into the environment/pollution. He said he hates both the Democrats and Republicans, because they're both owned by corporations, which is why he hates politicians/Government, as they wont get anything done, as they're bought and paid off by the corporations, etc. He also had a full page on the environment and pollution(the manifesto is called 'The Inconvenient Truth"), and how he wants people to stop being so wasteful, and stop polluting the environment....which then turned back on how much he hates corporations that hurt the environment, which again, will lead to mass migration, pollution and dependency on UBI(that is funded by the corporations). He also talks about this weird idea of sectioning off parts of America based on race, because he doesn't want to have mass deportations. He also explains what weapons he'll use, etc/

So I don't know? He's got a mix of both Left and Ring wing ideologies, all while blaming both sides. So if you cherry pick, you can take one sentence out of here, to try and attack whatever political side you want.

He was a very vocal Trump supporter on both his twitter and Facebook.

What narrative is Fox News running with? Texas is very pro 2nd ammendment, right wing, and supports open and concealed carry. The argument, "more armed civilians would have stopped this" doesnt really work when the mass shooting happened in Texas.
