The "petty thing" they were arguing about was the fact that he had a gun.
Apparently she wanted to confiscate it. ...then he shot her.

The whole thing is ridiculous.

Latest report is it was mommy's gun. We don't know who mom is but she apparently left her gun unsecured enough for a six year old to take it to school.

He seemed very callous about the dead children and more concerned about his police officers who were sworn to protect said children from doing their jobs.

MSNBC said the shooter was an Asian male so this is probably not a hate crime. Still another stupid tragedy.

Oh for sure. Those events get the most press along with terrorism. This could have been a domestic or love triangle event. Or gangs. Who knows?

I spent alot of my childhood in Alhambra , and its still one of my stomping grounds to go to on Saturday nights .
So I have alot of fond memories of that area.

It's wild to think the shooter attempted to shoot up the dance studio there.

The whole thing is a tragedy.

My heart goes out to the Monterey Park area and the victim's families.

An old Asian guy shot up old Asians, so not a hate crime. No proof but someone suggested he may have been aiming for his ex-wife. Domestic violence is the only thing that really makes sense. Hope we find out, but who knows?

I didn't know that about Asians hating on other Asians. I did just see quickly on MSNBC that the shooter and his ex-wife used to go to the dance hall, and had arguments about it. They are looking at this as more of a domestic violence problem. Even so, it doesn't excuse shooting a bunch of innocent strangers.

Something I long ago learned is some people hate other people just like themselves for whatever reason. It's not like there is any ethnicity, race, religion, etc that is unified behind their shared status.

We still don't know if this was a hate crime or not. Just because he was asian does not mean he did not hate women or hate people from another asian country or religion or whatever hate motivated him.
