What I don't get is why are they so against red flag laws involving domestic violence. I don't see how you can argue "I want to own a gun so I can protect my family" and then also support the right of a wife-beater to own a gun even though he is the one most likely to kill that family.

Because in some cases they are one in the same. The rest? I have no idea why they are so all for anyone to own a gun when they are also so afraid of someone breaking in and attacking their family with a gun.
