Masters Of The Universe:Fanboys have changed ?

Ok, gotcha. ;)

However, I still believe that yesteryear's cartoons are going to be remembered long after some other, more recent shows will be an historical footnote.

I'll grant you though, that the 80's shows lacked depth. Seriously so even. I also won't deny that the overuse of stock footage brought the visual quality quite a few pegs down. But by the same token, the old shows had heart! Sure they were meant to sell toys, but they also had genuine fun factor and adventures that made your imagination wander freely.

Don't get me wrong, there are some shows today that are really good all around, but I can count a lot more clunkers now than those from my days (and that include some shows I didn't care for).

Btw, anyone else would have preferred the He-Man movie happening strictly on Eternia?

Yes...it would have been better on Eternia...then Beastmaster 2 did the same thing.

sticking with eternia would have been the best thing they could have done, but realisticlly they couldnt, same reason the likes of orko and battlecat could be used it would have been near impossible to pull of the major effects needed in that time peroid

MotU had a budget of $17m, which wasn't much even back in 1987. Thus the idea to do, 'The Wizard of Oz in reverse' and have the Eternians come to earth.

I always thought they replaced Orko with Guildor in the movie and that they made Beast Man to much like Grizzlor
I did like the addition of Blade but Karg was a weak addition instead of using Tri Klops or Trapjaw IMO

the new villians worked well and had a great chance to build upon there characters i think karg could make a kick ass villian and add saurod to the snakemen and it would be brilliant.

also if anyone else hadnt noticed skeletor kills saurod in self defence saurod draws his gun just before he's cooked

The stuff kids like nowadays we all claim to hate, but it all comes full circle. "No, no" we say, "the stuff we loved back in the 80's was cool, this stuff is crap." No, the stuff we loved in the 1980's was straight garbage, and anyone that says otherwise is in denial.
In a way your right since I grew up on 80's cartoons and those are cherished memories, people will say to me that was kid stuff, but they instead prefer Lion King, Shrek, Finding Nemo, Incredibles which I consider "kid" stuff.
