Fantasy Masters of the Universe - Part 3

Noah found a lot of popularity with the movie "To All The Boys I've Loved Before", mostly among teenage girls. It's a Netflix teen romance movie (I haven't seen it.) He's got the height and can bulk up.

I can't believe they got Mark Ruffalo to play He-Man :o

I don't know who he is but everyone has to start somewhere. Perhaps this will be his breakthrough role.

Or maybe it will kill his career like John Carter killed Taylor Kitsch's, who knows.

Agree. Haven't heard of him so can't judge either way.

This film and everything about it doesn't really fill me with too much confidence though. Hopefully it will be another bumblebee.

Just so everyone knows, we don't even know if He-Man will be in the movie.

I’m very aware of Noah Centineo and hope to god this means he’s out of the running for Batman :barf: weirdly enough I can see him maybe making for a good He-Man. Maybe

I didn't stutter. Past screenwriters have tried to do the same for the last 10+ years.

Think about it like this. Producers don't want to deal with the whole transformation aspect. The 1987 movie jettisoned it entirely. It's like how producers don't know how to deal with Snake Eyes being a mute so he gets put into the background or he can't have a romance with Scarlett.

Wait. They want to make a He-Man movie without He-Man??

Edit: I feel like I actually remember reading something about that. That’s crazy. Just give us a straightforward He-Man vs Skeletor story and everyone will be happy

This project has been in active development since basically 2005 if not longer. Multiple scripts have basically made the transformation downplayed if not an after-thought. Alex Litwak didn't want He-Man or Skeletor at all in the script because real military heroes looked like Adrien Brody or some such.

It's easier said than done. How do you deal with the Prince Adam/He-Man casting. Most producers just don't want to deal with it.

Matel only got the rights back last year. They want this movie. Most producers might not want to deal with it but they don't need that many.

As for prince adam/he-man casting, you could do any numeber of things. 2 actors one a younger guy the other to play he-man. Just have prince adam not have a dual identity and just recieve great power from the sorceress/sword and become the leader of his people. Even have skeletor defeat the king and rule eternia, have prince adam go on a quest by the sorceress to retrieve the sword of power. Those ideas were straight off the top of my head, i'm sure a team of professional writers could come up with more that are better.

He's got a good frame, with a bit of mass building he could look the part as much as a realistic human could. The bleach blonde hair is not necessarily He-Man's defining trait; if Jason Momoa can be Aquaman and just slay the role, then this guy should do alright for a toy movie.

OK, so what? Do you think Mattel knows what they are doing where this movie is concerned? The last time Mattel made a movie it was the live-action Max Steel.

They aren't going to cast two different actors to play have role. Your other option is basically what I've been saying. They are going to downplay or pretty much remove the transformation aspect.

I'd be more intrigued if someone like James Wan was behind the camera and not the current guys they have.

I quite like centineo. He could play Brendan fraser’s son in a mummy sequel I reckon. He would be fun for this

I have already said that i don't have much confidence in this film.

You also said that he-man might not be in this movie.

Matel have only had the rights since september. They really want this film made and with he-man in it.

What the hell? :funny: This casting.

Oh well, like someone else said, at least this dude's name can stop inexplicably coming up in the Batman threads as of now. Good god.

I know nothing about this guy other than his name keeps popping up in Batman threads and he makes the same face in EVERY single photo I can find of him. He doesn't look like He-Man to me, but then hey, this film might not even have He-Man anyway so screw it. At least we have The Brothers Who Say Nee as the directors, and their illustrious filmography should put everyone at ease.

So who do you guys think they'll get for the rest of the cast?

Skele-tot: Finn Wolfhard
Kid-At-Arms: Tony Revolori
Teen-la: Eliza Scanlen
Or-kid: Jeremy Ray Taylor
