Same here. I had a neighbour who had almost the entire toy collection and always went to play thereI'll always have a soft spot for MOTU. It was the first franchise I ever got into as a kid. The toyline was epic. Castle Grayskull is still my alltime favorite childhood toy. Travis Knight is going to crush it.
To be fair, no one is achieving this kind of bulk without roiding up morning, noon and night…

You can thank the steroids.I know this has probably come up before, and it's definitely late in the game to bring up casting choices with the film already completed, but… Chris Hemsworth would have been a spot-on He-Man. The physique he brought to Thor? That’s practically textbook He-Man. I assume he was approached and maybe turned it down to avoid being typecast or simply wasn’t interested in playing a similarly styled role again—but if that’s the case, I think MGM missed a golden opportunity.
Now, I’m not one to preemptively criticize actors—it’s unfair to judge a performance before seeing it. Nicholas Galitzine looks fit and clearly put in the work, but from the images released, he just doesn’t have the sheer bulk you expect from He-Man. Unless those pics were misleading, it’s tough to envision him embodying the iconic look.
I agree he looks lean and athletic, but with only a rear‐view photo released, you can’t definitively say he’s massive—unless there’s another image I haven’t seen.Galitzine is massive. He clearly put in the work. Hemsworth didn’t always look like Thor either.
I totally agree—it does feel unfair. Bringing a fantasy icon like He-Man into live action is a tough ask. I’m not implying the movie or final cut will fall short; it could end up one of the best fantasy films ever made. We’ll just have to wait and see. I’m simply commenting on how he looks. To be fair, no one is achieving this kind of bulk without roiding up morning, noon and night…

During her MIP headliner session Tuesday morning in Cannes, Brenner also discussed a couple of her biggest takeaways about the hotly anticipated Masters of the Universe adaptation. “I went and visited the set last year, and out of all the movies that I’ve worked on in my entire life — even Barbie — it was [the biggest]. It was massive. I think we took over two or three sound stages. This was on eight back lots… [Characters] walking around that are eight-feet tall. There are these crazy characters in this movie.”
“I just actually got to see a director’s cut of the movie,” she added, “and [I was] absolutely blown away. That will be our second theatrical movie… I think it’s a perfect compliment to Barbie. I think people are going to be so excited. It is so much fun and feels so different.”
