Matt's Thread of Racing...

The fans love it, the drivers don't. NASCAR is going to listen to it's drivers first.

Well the drivers should learn to get some skill and avoid em instead of relying on the car.

How are you going to avoid this?

One reason NASCAR made this COT is so drivers can avoid wrecking and get a better grip on the race car. Because of Ryan Newman's mistake in the above wreck, chase contenders were knocked out. I bet if that was the COT car, you would have seen a lot less cars involved.

Since the COT has been introduced to plate racing, have you seen a big wreck with 20+ cars? I haven't. I have seen much safer racing and better finishes.

I think there was a wreck at Darlington and Jeff Gordon whent right through the smoke and didn't even get touched.....
I don't think it was recent...but definatley in this century?

I'm talking about wrecks at Daytona and Talladega. :o
Hey, it's possible....These guys are supposed to be the bst of the best. They ned to grow some balls. slam on the brakes, grab the wheel and avoid those things. stop going all ''NO CRASHES!!!!''

My fav race, the Aarons 499 (they never ghave the bigone in the 2nd Dega Race due to the chase)

They do slam on the brakes to avoid these things. But going 190 MPH with cars sliding 20 FT in front of you blocking the race track is hard to avoid. Even if they swerve to avoid one car, there's another car crashing on the other side.

Look at this wreck here. Bobby Lobonte just about made it through and had slowed all the way down and was still a victim of the big one. About 24 cars were involved in this wreck. 24 decent cars that had a chance to finish in the top 10. I want to see 43 cars at the end of the race where everyone has a chance to win, not a huge wreck where a driver could get injured or even killed.

Ok, got me there. but it's always cool to see those cars get destroyed :o

I wish they never re paved 'Dega....It looks too...Dyatona-ish. The old 'Dega looked old and dangerous....very second in the pack was a risk...with all the cracks and bumps. now that it's smooth now. it takes a little but less skill to drive through the race. yes, i know, it takes MOMENTEOUS amount of talent and balls to drive inches away from 43 OTHER CARS AT 190 mph...but still....:o

Yes, i'm just bitter becasue Jeff Gordon can't figure out that you have to win more than finish in the top 10.....the young drivers are taken OVAH!

I thought it was a boring race. There were only 3 people who led. That's unusual for Bristol.

California this weekend. I like Greg Biffle to take the checkered flag.

Well, I was close. Biffle finished second. Richmond is up next for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. I think Jimmie will take 2 in a row.

What's the general racing fans feeling towards Lagano? He is from Connecticut so I feel like I should support the guy

Lagano has impressed me since he's made his way up through the ranks. For him to win a race in NASCAR's lower series at the age of 18 is truely impressive. He's going to be running some races in the Sprint Cup series(NASCAR's highest series) over the next 10 weeks. Next year he's going to be with a team that has won two championships in 4 years. I think he's going to be a very good driver.

The only concern I have with him is coming in at a lower age. Usually drivers come up between the ages of 22-25. He's still only 18.

Here we go again...Daytona!

I wonder who Matt is pulling for.

My favorite driver is Carl Edwards, but I'd love to see Mark Martin win it.

My prediction though is Tony Stewart.

Kenseth wins. I wonder how much Matt lost on that one.

I don't get to watch a whole lot of NASCAR, but I always love watching the Daytona 500!

They should have done the rest of the race today...would have been a good finish :csad:

haha, Billy Ray Cyrus just screwed up the Anthem a bit for the truck race....
Bad Mic. :hehe:

Alright, Short tracks. I love the crashe and stuff there. Bristol is amazing. I went to Martinsville 2 years ago for a race, Great atmosphere. acing EVERYWHERE. It's like an endless line ofcars going by. Me and my dad are hoping to get cikets to a Bristol Race, maybe the night one.

Boring race today. I had Harvick for my race pool and he didn't do ****. :down
