Remember that Fury character is out, so probably they will replaced him with some "more light" chief of SHIELD, and Scarlett could be a very very awesome Danvers, cause Blunt is perrrfect for the Widow part. That was something that came out to my head when I read the rumour in superherohype.

Dushku-Madame Mask(though I like her for BW as well)

Yeaah me neither, Blunt is better for the role, and they can use the carol danvers from the ultimate universe for the film and dosnt have to be a major role.

I would actually really like to see Scarlett as Danvers and Blunt as Widow. I REALLY REALLY doubt that would happen though. I would bet any amount of money that Danvers isn't in the script at all.

Again I have to ask, what makes Blunt "perfect" to play the Black Widow. Her massive acting pedigree? Her extensive background in the action genre? She is relatively unknown.

Not that I don't think she can pull it off. I just find it odd people are pimping her for this part that have seen her in only a couple supporting roles.

If you want her cast solely on looks then say that. Then you can talk about which wrestlers to cast as Cap and Thor.

Scarlett has headlined several excellent movies. Though like many actors has appeared in her share crap. Lost in Translation, The Horse Whisperer, In Good Company, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Ghost World and Prestige were all examples of her capable abilities.

I'm just pointing out if you what to move beyond looks (of which Scarlett has more than her fair share) and compare the two on their talent and body of work. I believe Scarlett holds the edge.

Then again I'm, not sure what criteria you are using to crown Ms. Blunt as the "perfect" BW. I think there are plenty of lovely and capable actresses out there that are a better choice for this part.

I love this because my last name is Danvers and its rare to hear of other people with the same last name unless they're family lol.

I'm not sure about the rumor of Scarlett, yeah he's a decent actress but I just dont really see her as Black Widow. Carol, possibly!

I dought she will play Carol Danvers, while the character spent a little time in the title back in the late 90's as Warbird, she is not really attached much to the Iron Man universe, not enough to warrent a large role in the film, Black widow is a sure bet with Madam Masque a distent possiblity.

There is Yelena Belova (Black Widow II) who happens to be blonde but I'm not feeling Scarlett as Black Widow nor Carol Danvers and Eliza looks a little too young not to say she could'nt handle the part or that she's not old enough but I don't see her opposite RDjr
