This will likely conclude my Mayo series of threads. We’ve discussed mayonnaise on hamburgers, hot dogs, so let’s finish it up with this one.

It came to mind today as I’m at Firebouse subs, getting the Engineer with no onions, no mayo.

I like mayo on ham sandwiches....and of course I love it on a tomato sandwich.

There is some evil in this thread.

Mayo goes fine with chicken, and unexpectedly mixed with some tuna. Mixed with most other things is a mistake.

In France, you can put mayo on fries, rice, sandwiches, hamburgers, there is no taboo :)
AFAIC, when I eat mayo, it's hand made and not with the aforementioned dishes.

Yeah man some regular mayo. Maybe some of the chitpotle kind

Mayo on turkey sandwiches with cheese.

The turkey & cheese sandwich is equally enjoyable with mustard, but I have found ambient temperature, time-of-day, and even the Season of consumption to be operative factors in the decision between mayo & mustard application.

Also...The Question of accompanying drinks springs to mind.

Beer goes better with mustard.

Depends on the sandwich. On the traditional roast beef, yes indeed. Tuna...yes. Chicken Club....yes.

Any sandwich with a pork-based meat like a Ham and Cheese or a BLT, no thanks. Mayonaisse's tartness works against the salty flavor of pork meat; it's almost gives it an acidic feel. It's like overload. A butter-mustard blend is much better with those.

With chicken, ham, or tuna, yes. Can't think of anything else though.

So this is the final installment of your 'Mayo Trilogy'?

I have to say, with these mayo threads, you've really put on a clinic!

The number of times I've ordered a sandwich and its come with mayo on it despite the menu making no mention of mayo is just unacceptable. That vile condiment ruins everything it comes into contact with.

It`s a given that the Bridge crew on The Titanic was busy trying to open a jar of Mayo when the ice burg was sighted, and was thus too slow to turn the vessel.
I`ve even heard rumors that an open jar of Mayo was seen on board the Hindenburg just before it blew.

There is no end to Mayo`s EEEvil.

Absolutely. Not every sandwich, but it sure belongs on a great deal of them.

Depends on what sandwich I make

those are the ONLY sandwiches that it's acceptable... all else is a deranged person's insult to his own taste buds......
