I thought the idea of the Thor vs Ronan thread was cool, so what if we throw both of these powerful villains with their Infinity Stones into an arena? Who will emerge victorious?

Malekith with the Aether

Ronan with the Orb

All Malekith needs to do is break into song and dance and it's game over for Ronan. Malekith FTW.

Hmm. I'm inclined to say Ronan. The Aether didn't seem to give Malekith the same kind of quick, easy firepower that the Orb gave Ronan. If nothing else, Ronan could just slam the ground, unleash the Orb's power, and blow up everything. If Thor can tolerate and survive the Aether's damaging effects, I'm sure powered up Ronan can do so.

I think you all are underestimating Malekith. He was going to destroy all 9 Realms in one stroke. Ronan having the ability to destroy Xandar does not look as powerful compared to that. Plus Ronan has vulnerability of having his Infinity Stone in the Universal Weapon, while Malekith's Infinity Stone was in his body.

So I'll take Malekith.

Malekith. Would he get distracted if Thor sang infront of him? probably no.

I will go with Malekith:

The only way Thor managed to defeat him was separating his body from the Aether and I can't think how Ronan would do that.

While true, he was going to destroy the whole universe, by transforming it from its current state into one hostile to current life. He wasn't exactly going to blow it up. . . and the impression I got was that the transformation would only be quick on a cosmic scale. Plus, his ability to do this was dependent on the Convergence; I'm rather iffy on whether he could even transform a single planet on anything resembling a fast timescale without it.

I'm going with Malekith after watching that vid of his fight with Thor, did you all see how he grew to like 25-30 feet?

Thor's super jump towards Malekith at the end caused the ground to break OMG.

Ronan - 6

Malekith - 6

I don't think either of them knew exactly what to do with the stones or use them to their full potential. The Aether is supposed to be the reality stone. That should give tithe edge over the power stone but I'm not sure which of the stones is the most powerful. i believe I've read that it's the reality one.

None of them was developed enough for me to care but Ronan was the better of the two in terms of looks and character design. His also more enjoyable to watch, in my opinion.

I thought Malekith was just going to plunge all 9 realms into darkness, not outright blow them up but make the realms more suitable for his conquest of them.

Of course the complete absence of light would probably extinguish most life in short order. Am I wrong though? I thought the Dark Elves were naturally empowered by darkness?

It's just about which would win in a fight, has nothing to do with character development.

Well, Ronan was hard to hurt with the Orb. Not seeing how Malekith can put him down..

Malekith wasn't harmed "period" with the Aether, he had to have his body displaced using the covergence.

Ronan was way more badass and the movie around him wasn't meh so Ronan

Ronan. Far more powerful before the stones power, so it stand to reason he'd be more efficient with one.

Easily, easily Ronan, was much more powerful than Malekith before getting the orb, so would still be much more powerful after IMO. Ronan beat the **** out of a drunk Drax before getting the orb, Malekith was schooled by Frigga, no comparison.

Ronan was definately a badass, but beating a drunk Drax is not a good feat. Honestly beating a sober Drax wouldn't be a big feat as he was kind of underwhelming power wise.

^I was dissapointed in Drax on 1st viewing as well, but on 2nd viewing I noticed a few things. Ronan visibly winced when Drax landed a punch on him. When Ronan downed all of the team on the Dark Aster as well Drax was the only one who straight back up and ran at Ronan, plus Drax survived Rocket crashing the Milano into him and Ronan. I hope for more in the sequel of course, but Drax wasnt as dissappointing as I 1st thought in the end.

I think Drax would kick Frigga's and Malekiths asses anyway.

I was underwhelmed by Drax's second 'fight' with Ronan. He just choked him and held him up. Come on...
