Homecoming MCU Spider-Man Trilogy Ideas

I wouldn't be able to finish that film series in my lifetime...

EDIT: Meaning the amount of films.

I feel trilogies are rather limiting and should have no place in the MCU

I wouldn't be able to finish that film series in my lifetime...

EDIT: Meaning the amount of films.
Oh no, I don't want them to do all of them. Just take one or two.

I would like the first film to be set after a few months of Spidey fighting thugs but still being an unseen and unknown figure in NY, with Scorpion created by JJ in order to catch him.

I just want them to skip the origin in the first film.

Movie 1: After meeting Peter himself in Civil War, we are now introduced to the rest of his supporting cast members. Mysterio is the villain, and as he requires little development, the focus can instead be turned on Peter's relationships with family and friends. As for Mysterio, he sees that the future of crime in New York is in theatrics and teams with brilliant technician Herman Schulz to pull off a supposedly impossible heist. Spidey stops Mysterio, but Schulz gets away. By the end of the movie, we have established Peter's new relationship with Gwen, his tutelage under Dr. OCtavious, his rivalry with Eddie Brock, as well as Norman Osborne's presence. Post Credits Scene: Schulz reports back to the Kingpin who introduces him to a shadowy figure known as the Hobgoblin.

Movie 2: In the time since the last movie, Peter has gone off to space with the Avengers in Infinity War, coming back clad in the symbiote. Meanwhile, the Hobgoblin and his Enforcers (including Schulz as Shocker) have embarked on a massive crimespree. Everyone is desperate to discover the identity of the Hobgoblin. Norman Osborne personally suspects rivel industrialist Roderick Kingsley, as none of his holdings have been targeted yet. Meanwhile, world-famous hunter and television host Sergei Kravenoff visits New York, and is hired by J.J.J. to capture Spiderman. Throughout the film, we watch as Peter becomes obsessed with catching the Hobgoblin, growing increasingly dark and angry, damaging his relationships with Gwen, Aunt May, and his teachers. Kraven in turn becomes obsessed with Spiderman, after being publically humilitated. Lastly, Eddie Brock turns in a scoop pegging fellow reporter Ned Leeds as the Hobgoblin. When Leeds is killed and the Hobgoblin appears again, Eddie is fired. It all culminates when The Enforcers raid the newly finished KIngsley Tower. Spiderman, Kraven, and Eddie all converge on this point. Spidey brutally fights his way through the Enforcers, ignoring Eddie when he is put in danger and seemigly falls to his death. Finally, only the Hobgoblin remains, but is suddenly taken out by Kraven. He and Spidey have a brutal fight, but when Venom starts to fully emerge, Peter stops, allowing Kraven to get the upper hand. However, Peter sheds the symbiote and defeats Kraven without it. He goes home to mend his relationships. Post Credits Scene: Eddie's unconscious form is bonded with the symbiote as The Hobgoblin ominously looks on.

Movie 3: Since shedding the symbiote, Peter has turned his life around. He's heading off to college with Gwen, he's a top photographer at the Daily Bugle, and he's just gained a coveted position as Professor Octavious' chief lab assitant. However, in the shadows of New York, a gangwar is brewing between the Hobgoblin's forces and those led by Silvermane and his top hitman Tombstone. The Hobgoblin proposes a peace, if he can eliminate Spiderman. For that purpose he turns to his secret weapon: Venom. Meanwhile, we get a closer look at Norman Osborne. As his political influence continues to grow, he harbors a continuing obsession with Roderick Kingsley, confounded by the fact that Harry is now dating Kingsley's daughter, Liz. He tries to use Harry to find out his rival's secrets, but Harry refuses. Norman enlists the aid of investigator Mac Gargan, and together they finally discover that Norman was right all along. Kingsley is, in fact The Hobgoblin. Back to Peter, his life goes on as normal, until Venom shows up. A series of incidents and accidents become increasingly suspicious and potentially lethal. It is clear someone is stalking and threatening Peter and the ones he loves. This culminates at a massive science exhibitation at the college. Everyone is there, and thus Venom attacks. The proceeding cat and mouse game wreaks havoc on the exhibitation. Along with Captain Stacy and a visiting Cpt. Flash Thompson, Dr. Octavious saves dozens of civilians, but his wife is killed and Flash greviously wounded in the destruction. Venom takes Gwen and runs off. Spiderman and Venom fight atop a nearby tower, and Venom throws Gwen off. However, she is saved by her father. Captain Stacy, however is not so lucky, and stabbed by Venom. Furious, Spidey finally defeats his foe, and races the Stacys to the hospital. The Captain doesn't make it, but Gwen wakes up, only with partial amnesia and no memory that Peter is Spiderman. The film concludes with Peter giving up his identity, instead focusing on Gwen and science. The military confiscates BRock and the symbiote. Flash wakes up in the hospital minus his legs and with an invitation to join a new Metahuman taskforce. And in a home with the name Morales on the mailbox, a teenager watches the news report on the proceedings, while sketching Spiderman, only with a few changes to the suit.... Post Credits Scene: Kingsley, panicked, rushes to his office to don his mask for a meeting with Silvermane, only to be suprised and murdered by none other than Norman Osborne, who has Gargan dispose of the body and proceeds to don the Goblin mask and go into the meeting himself.

Great idea's nice build up too Venom. Love the use of the Hobgoblin. Kraven in the second film would be awesome. If there are two villians everyone wants to see it's Kraven and Mysterio.

Spider-Man kills Madame Web.
Roll credits

My life would be complete

First “Trilogy”: Dark Reign (I know this is an odd place to enter into a new Spider-Man universe, but hear me out.)

Civil War Post-Credits
The Registration Act is still in play. Stark has been taken out of the picture, either by willfully stepping down at the end, or turning on the government forces to help Steve at the last possible moment and being locked away. After the credits roll, we see a new organization being formed to enforce the Registration Act. HAMMER, with Norman Osborn at its lead.

Marvel’s Spider-Man
The film will focus on one main villain, with HAMMER as a secondary enemy. Peter has no major love-interest. He can have a high school fling, but it shouldn’t take up too much screen time. We’ve already had two Spider-Man series with heavy emphasis put on the romances, and we don’t need to start off this one that way too. Rather, the relationship that should be focussed on most is Harry and Peter’s. If Harry becomes the Goblin someday, then people need to care about his character first. I’d like to see Harry finding out Peter’s identity and steering his dad away from Spider-Man’s trail during the third act, giving Peter time to fight the real villain.

If possible, the main villain should be Kingpin with Shocker or another low-level villain as an enforcer, with daredevil crossing over. Otherwise, Mysterio.

Infinity War
Peter finds the black suit. The Registration Act is abolished.

Spider-Man 2
The world has changed. Super Heroes are actually seen as heroes again. Peter is going to college, has a job at the Bugle (where Eddie Brock is already employed) and is sporting a new black suit. HAMMER still exists, but is only allowed to deal with criminals. Pretty much, they have about the same amount of power as SHIELD did before. At this point, there can be a real love-interest. Just not Gwen Stacy. We just seen her die in TASM2. We don’t need to rehash it. I doubt anyone would care about her death a second time. Mary Jane would be the most likely choice.

This time around, Spider-Man is going up against terrorist organization that we’ve seen elsewhere in the MCU (No, it’s not the one you’re thinking of). Leviathan. Yes, I know that terrorists, particularly Leviathan, aren’t Spider-Man’s usual gig. But that’s what makes Leviathan so effective. Every single Spider-Man villain in the movies have just been generic super villains, making the movies come off as too formulaic. A terrorist organization is something substantially different than what we’ve seen Spidey fight on the big screen.

Now, that’s not to say we aren’t using Spider-Man’s own rogue’s gallery.

The movie starts with Chameleon breaking into Oscorp and stealing something. The formula that was stolen was developed by Oscorp, by order of Norman Osborn, using the DNA of superhumans detained in Ravencroft during the Registration Act. The formula was designed to transform ordinary humans. To make them faster, stronger and more agile. The first test subject will be Aleksei Sytsevich, The Rhino. Once he takes the serum, Rhino will have close to the strength and agility of the Hulk.

This forces Spider-Man to form an uneasy alliance with Norman Osborn. An alliance which becomes even more necessary when Harry is abducted. But Peter’s real challenge comes not from without, but from within as the Venom symbiote threatens to corrupt him. After almost killing Norman, Peter gets rid of the suit for good, leaving him to his final confrontation with Rhino with nothing but his wits to win the day. And to make matters worse, Norman is being driven by his own madness, and will betray Spider-Man the moment he gets his son back.

Mid-Credits: Norman is meeting a group of Supervillains in a dark room, forming the Cabal. (In my head, the MCU Cabal includes Loki, Red Skull and the real Mandarin, thus using a villain from each of the Big Three, and Spider-Man. I’d also like Doctor Doom, but I don’t see that one happening.)

End-Credits: The symbiote is seen crawling around underground.

Elsewhere…
HAMMER has several run-ins with other superheroes during this period, with about as much of a role as SHIELD had during Phase 1, only in a more antagonistic way. Additionally, several characters will appear throughout Phase 4 who will form the Dark Avengers (Including The Sentry)

Meanwhile, on Agents of SHIELD (assuming it’s somehow still running in eight years. With the Registration Act, the Netflix series and Marvel kicking up their movie production to three a year, there should be enough going on the in the world to provide the material), It’s discovered by the team that HAMMER has been orchestrating disasters across the globe to consolidation power in the same way that Hydra did.

Avengers: Siege
The place Osborn is besieging in this adaption is anyone’s guess. I see Asgard a little difficult to do when it’s not hovering over Oklahoma. I also don’t think it necessarily needs to be based there. What’s most important is Norman engineering an event that makes a small nation appear to the government as a threat so that he can launch an attack against it. This could be Asgard, it could be Wakanda (The real reason for targeting them would be Osborn getting Vibranium), or… That place where the Inhumans come from.

Whichever city is used for the Siege, the event should happen in a previous movie, meaning we can get to the battle by the end of the first act. Siege will show Norman’s mental decline, which will only get worse when Spider-Man and the real Avengers show up. In the third act, I’d like to see Norman take a modified version of the serum given to Rhino, transforming him into the Green Goblin. The serum should give him super strength and agility slightly above that of Spider-Man, and mental speed higher than Captain America’s. Only, at the price of making him even crazier than he already is.

Obviously, there will be a lot of other stuff happening, including Norman’s manipulation of Sentry. But Norman’s downfall is the most important to Spider-Man’s arc.

I'm still working out how the next arc will go, but the third Spider-Man movie will show Harry trying to pick up the pieces of his family's legacy, while Venom is intent on destroying Peter's life... And in the process, spawns something even worse than himself: Carnage.

Edit: Reconsidering Venom slightly. Old version is below. Will post an updated Venom movie summary later.

Okay, this is a long one.

The hardest thing about plotting the Venom movie is finding a way to fit Harry’s arc into the second Green Goblin into the film in a way that felt natural. To do this, I think another character needs added to the trilogy: Liz Allan. Liz can operate as a proto-love interest for Peter in the first movie. In my head, I see Peter asking her out and them going on a date and once they get there, everything is really awkward and Peter has to go when he hears [Insert Villain] is attacking. The next day, they both decide they’re better off as just friends.

At this point, Harry overdoses on drugs and is sent to the hospital (if Kingpin is the villain in this movie, the drugs can tie Harry’s subplot directly to main story). Peter and Liz both go to the hospital to see him. Later in the film, Liz is helping Harry go clean. In the second movie, Liz and Harry are both dating and have been for a couple years. In the end of the second film, Harry proposes.

Now, with that established onto Venom...

Spider Man: Venom

Venom needs to be to Spider-Man what Slade Wilson was to Arrow. He’s not interested in killing Peter, so much as he wants to ruin Peter’s life. As much as he’s a physical threat, he needs to be just as much a psychological one. At the same time, Venom needs to be shown to have a moral compass, even if it’s one not totally aligned with North. Killing innocents is one thing, for example, that Venom won’t do, but he’s perfectly willing to murder criminals. Which is exactly what he’ll do.

Venom will first attack Spider-Man to disable him. Caught completely off guard and without his Spider Sense, Peter will be easily defeated. Then, disguised as a black-suited Spider-Man, Venom murders a bunch of thugs in an alleyway. The murders will caught on a camera caught in Venom’s webbing, similar to how Peter takes pictures of himself as Spider-Man. But he doesn’t stop there. Destroying Spider-Man’s reputation isn’t enough. He wants to destroy Peter Parker’s as well. He wants to make Peter lose his job, his friends and his family. Everything Peter cares about.

As for Harry’s role, he’s now married to Liz by this point and they’re expecting a child. Harry is also attempting to rebuild his company’s reputation following Norman’s actions as director of HAMMER. He’s not exactly friends with Peter anymore, but neither is he an enemy. It’s more that he’s just cold toward him. He blames Peter for Norman’s death, but realizes it was necessary. Harry understands what happened, but isn’t willing to completely forgive it. So when he hears that Spider-Man has started killing again, part of Harry wants to believe it’s true, as it justifies his opinion of Peter.

Later on, Spider-Man manages defeat Venom in a battle, exploiting the sonic weakness. This leads Venom to spawn another symbiote. Blinded by rage, he makes the symbiote reproduce and attaches the copy to the last person Peter would want to have it, the serial killer named Cletus Kassady (who would likely be arrested in the first scene of the movie). But when Kassady starts murdering innocents and Eddie fails to restrain him on his own, Eddie must go to Peter for help.

Carnage needs to be shown as a clear superior to Venom in terms of raw strength, but also in versatility. We should see him turn his arms into wings and weapons, and see him launch webbing and projectiles from all over his body. More important than the power level though, he needs to do something incredibly awful. Killing random citizens is bad, but viewers aren’t going to connect with them. The deaths can’t just be people the no one cares about.

You can probably already see where I’m going with this. Harry needs to evolve into the Green Goblin as well as feel like an important piece of the plot, this movie needs to have a strong emotional impact on the viewers to surpass the past installments, and Kassady needs to murder someone important for his appearance here to be worthwhile and to contrast his character with Venom. The only logical solution is killing Liz Allan.

Liz dies in the film’s climax. Harry is there and sees what happens. Spider-Man and Venom try to fight Carnage, but he demonstrates an immunity to the sonic attacks. Only after Liz is dead does Eddie remember that his own symbiote was also weak against fire and use that weakness to kill Carnage.

End Credits: Harry, after watching his wife and unborn child die, is talking to himself in the mirror. While he will look normal, his image in the mirror will appear slightly goblin-esque. (Similar to his appearance in TASM2 after being injected.)

I agree, they should bring in new heros. That's reason why it would have been a bit better maybe to have Spiderman separate from the others, they can bring a lot more villains and sidekicks in.

Revised my ideas. Obviously not in full detail, and possible sequels to Venom, Black Cat etc. are not accounted for, neither are possible future Avengers movies.

ANT-MAN - JULY 2015
In a post-credits scene, we see Peter Parker on a school trip. He stops at a display of spiders - one is missing. Suddenly, a spider bites his hand - he flinches, pulling his hand away. We hear a teacher call "Parker!", and cut to black.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR - MAY 2016
We see Spider-Man on a list of heroes operating without supervision - among others. Parker later is seen taking photos of a confrontation between Cap and Iron Man - only for a huge battle to ensue. Peter suits up in an alley, getting civilians out of the way - recreating the iconic Amazing Fantasy #15 cover onscreen. He briefly evades Iron Man, and upon Cap's orders, escapes. This is the world's first big exposure to Spidey.

SPIDER-MAN - JULY 2017
Peter is in high school with friends Gwen and Harry, lives at home with May. Works at the Bugle for money. He takes out petty thieves Flint Marko and Alex O'Hirn in the beginning, who will recur throughout the movies. Main villain is Shocker, who works for Tombstone, whom is attempting to take control of organised crime in NYC. Kingpin is his rival. Tombstone pays Norman Osborn to receive technology he can use to his advantage - Shocker's suit being an example of this. Spidey keeps interfering in Tombstone's operations to keep his streets safe - Tombstone disapproves and sends Shocker after him. Spidey eventually exposes Oscorp, and Osborn cuts his ties with Tombstone, in an attempt to redeem himself. He takes a leave of absence, appointing Otto Octavius as temporary boss... Spidey has faced his first supervillain, and is now fully exposed as a hero to the larger world. He meets Mary Jane in the final scene of the movie, with the famous "face it tiger" line.

THE THUNDERBOLTS - MARCH 2018
Sony's first spin-off, with Louis D'Esposito and the Russos overseeing. Norman Osborn approaches the Government with a plan to redeem himself - by assembling a unit they can use to deal with their problems. He forms the Thunderbolts, consisting of Abomination, Bullseye, Madame Masque and Crossbones. But in typical Osborn fashion, he always has another agenda - he uses the opportunity to test his new formula, assuming the secret identity of the Green Goblin on the team, who aren't aware he is Osborn. The team are successful in their mission, and Norman's name is redeemed... Only to disappear.

THE AVENGERS: INFINTY WAR, PART ONE - MAY 2018
Spidey joins the Avengers as they attempt to stop Thanos retrieving the Infinity Gems. He receives the black suit, a symbiotic parasite that bonds to him, during a fight sequence, but removes it upon recommendation of the team. It is stored away at Avengers HQ...

VENOM: CARNAGE - FEBRUARY 2019
Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist who lost his former job as a photographer to Peter Parker, receives a tip about the alien symbiote the Avengers have locked away. He investigates, discovering they have been experimenting on it - only to bond with the symbiote, becoming the anti-villain Venom. He is confronted by Spider-Man, and after a brief battle, Venom is defeated. However, when he discovers that people are being used to trial genetically modified versions of the symbiote, Brock attempts to stop it - but not before Carnage is inadvertently created.

THE AVENGERS: INFINTY WAR, PART TWO - MAY 2019
The final assault against Thanos begins, with Spidey joining the rest of the Avengers once again. The team are ultimately victorious, and Spidey returns to NYC as a hero in the eyes of his teammates.

SPIDER-MAN 2 - NOVEMBER 2019
We start with Spidey fighting Vulture, in an action sequence. He's defeat and arrested. Whilst Norman is missing, Octavius is still in charge at Oscorp - and has resumed dealings with the mob to fund his experiments, the biggest of which are four mechanical arms that can be used in the field. However, when Norman unexpectedly returns, Octavius is fired - and is forced to test the prototype arms on himself, only for them to bond with him. He becomes Doctor Octopus, and starts plotting to destroy Oscorp - only to be stopped by Spidey. Angry, Octavius begins plotting a way of stopping him...

BLACK CAT - APRIL 2020
Felicia Hardy becomes the anti-hero Black Cat after she learns of her father's involvement in mob activity. Tombstone and Kingpin feature, and Spidey arrives to set her on the right path to eventually defeating her father.

SPIDER-MAN 3, PART ONE - MAY 2021
Again we start with an action sequence, this time featuring Spidey stopping Hydro-Man. The Green Goblin begins attacking mob outposts, destroying any evidence of Oscorp's dealings with them - Spidey begins interfering. Already being driven insane by the Goblin formula, Osborn becomes devoted to killing Spider-Man. He lures him out by causing chaos and destruction, eventually learning Spidey's identity - whilst Osborn learns his. Osborn begins attacking Peter personally, eventually kidnapping Gwen, whom he falsely assumes to be Peter's girlfriend. Spidey intercepts him, but Gwen is killed. Spidey beats down Norman to near death, exposing his identity when he's arrested. Osborn arranges for Octavius to be released from prison before he's incarcerated - so that Octavius can carry out his plan...

SPIDER-MAN 3, PART TWO - MAY 2022
Set almost immediately after the events of the previous movie, Octavius assembles a team of villains - himself, Vulture, Shocker and Hydro-Man - and recruits Flint Marko and Alex O'Hirn to undergo transformations into Sandman and the Rhino - and plots to kill Spider-Man. Spidey teams up with Black Cat and Venom to stop them, with Spider-Man eventually coming out victorious. Following all this chaos, all the villains are incarcerated. In the closing moments of the trilogy, Harry gains control of Oscorp.

Eh, not a fan of spliitting a spiderman film into two parts. Might as well just either include it all in one film or call the second part Spider-Man 4.

It essentially is Spider-Man 4, but decided to call it two parts since they were close together and almost directly followed on. Changing it

Trilogy? It would be nice to see a Spider-Man franchise actually reach a 4th movie

The First Movie: The Movie starts with a hit and run chase, Spider-Man tracks the car to a place where there is a gang of Criminals holding hostages led by the shocker, The Police follow Spider-Man to the location of the shocker and his gang holding Hostages there's a massive shoot out. Spider-Man fights and defeats the shocker and he is arrested.
Peter struggles to keep up with his school work while fighting crime
There are female characters but there's no sign of any of them being a love interest
Introduce J Jonah Jameson
After 30 minutes you introduce the main villain who is Mysterio who uses illusions to make it look like the Dinosaurs have returned. Spider-Man fights him on a bridge but is defeated by Mysterio
Yes this I know this sounds **** so far and I won't give ideas for the second half of this movie or talk about the next 2 in this trilogy

I posted this in the main Spider-Man thread and was advised to post it here in this thread. :)

~

I've been thinking about how Marvel Studios and Sony could plan out the MCU Spider-Man series, and I think I came up with a general arc trajectory that might make for a pretty great Spidey series! :mnm:

Spider-Man (2017) - I don't have much of an actual storyline for this particular film. It's a John Hughes high school comedy combined with a superhero story, pitting Peter up against Mysterio. MJ is the only one who knows that Peter is Spider-Man and acts as his confidant through out the film, akin to the USM comics. Peter has a rocky mother-son relationship with Aunt May.

Spider-Man 2 (2019/2020) - I'm going to guess that Peter will wind up getting the Symbiote costume while he's out in space during either Part 1 or 2 of Infinity War. But rather than introduce Venom here, let's save him for later... This film is largely a retelling of "Kraven's Last Hunt," while also implementing elements from the earlier parts of the Symbiote Arc. It should also set up some sort of relationship between Peter and Eddie during the film, whether it's as old friends (a la USM) or as rivals like in the 616 universe.

Once Peter gets buried alive, Kraven makes his own cloth replica of the Symbiote costume and parades around NYC as an even more violent Spidey than Peter has been lately (due to the influences of the Symbiote). Since Peter is still in high school, Aunt May is searching for Peter and assumes that he's been kidnapped. MJ is trying to figure out what the hell is going on with Peter and soon figures out that it's not him as Spider-Man, thus begins searching for him herself.

Meanwhile the Symbiote is actually keeping Peter alive while he's six feet under and plays a part in his "rebirth" sequence, giving him boosted strength as he digs himself out of the grave. Peter gets too violent while he's confronting Kraven and MJ has to stop him from killing Kraven. Peter ultimately decides to remove the Symbiote, while Kraven commits suicide. The post-credits scene is Eddie Brock finding the Symbiote.

Spider-Man 3 (2021/2022) - Venom time, baby. Peter is either a senior in high school or a freshman in college. His friendship with MJ has developed to a point where the romantic tensions are high and we now get a "Will they, won't they" sub-plot between the two.

We continue to see more of that relationship (be it good or bad) between Peter and Eddie, while Peter is trying to solve a mystery of who a supposed Spider-Man imposter is (fyi it's Venom).

~

Obviously my main ideas are more in regard to the second film in the trilogy, but I'll be coming back to this over the next few days and keep hammering away at the first and third stories.

You gotta admit though; combining Kraven's Last Hunt with the early Symbiote era is a kickass idea! :hmr:

I quite like those ideas. Nice job! :yay:

Thanks!

I really think there's a lot of potential in exploring the Kraven's Last Hunt arc in-conjunction with Peter wearing the Symbiote suit. It'd admittedly be darker than the first film, but I think it's a really natural way of showing both the negatives and the positives of the Symbiote suit. After all, it does "love" Peter before he separates from it, so it makes sense that it might find a way to help keep Peter alive while he's buried alive for two weeks straight.

I also think that building the friendship between Peter and MJ is going to be key in this trilogy. Save the romance for the third film and have the two build up to it. That way, we see why the two love each other and that also gives Mary Jane a bigger role to be someone more than just Peter's love interest. She's a really fun character and is fun to watch interacting with Peter. The idea of her being his voice of reason during the Symbiote arc would really be great too.

I want to think more on what to do with Peter's relationships with both Aunt May and Eddie. Personally, I'd lean more towards the USM take of Peter's relationship with Eddie and let him fill the void that is usually filled by Harry's presence in the previous films. I personally want a break from the Osborns in the Spider-Man stories, at least for awhile. If we still have Peter by the time SM4 comes along, then we should bring Harry and Norman into play.
